Please specify which college you are asking about , since SRM college of tamil nadu only offers science courses. Meanwhile , if you are asking about SRCC  college (Delhi university) , then the cut off for this college of very high so you have to obtain

Actually in case of VIT then VIT vellore is best and in case of chennai SRM chennai is best.

Now in between  VIT  and SRM  then VIT is always better than SRM.  Because VIT have its best campus infrastructure and intellectual  faculties overall.
