With reference to your query, I would like to inform you that  you have scored a very decent rank but at this rank getting  cse would be difficult because cse closes before 10k only . I would advise you that instead of taking cse in other branches of SRM , you should go with ece branch in SRM chennai which you will get easily because major become companies comes in main campus only and at the time of placements all stream student sit togetther only so you will equal opportuinites In IT placements

As per your query, I would like to know you that Vit would be a better option than SRM due to its high placement statistics of cse branch , nirf ranking (23) in overall instiutitons of india, Providing education according to the latest trend which is required in the industry , well organized infrastuscture with cleaned hostels . The placements ratio is around 90 percent , average package goes around 8 lakhs and highest went upto to 40lakhs

SRM Valliammai Engineering College ,Kanchipuram is a private institute in Kattankulathur,Chennai  .It's NAAC Accreditation (Grade A).

This College offers seven UG and eight PG courses .This College is affiliated to Anna University.

Admission is being done to all programmes on the merit basis.

It also offers a provision to students of lateral entry to BE/BTech programmes.

For courses like ME/MBA candidates are selected on the basis of TANCET score.

Fees vary courses to courses such as for BE/BTech ,total fees is INR 2 L - 2.4 L and for MBA/PGDM ,the total fees is INR 70 K .

Placement cell of the college is really active and has a good record. 99% of  students from IT branch ,CSE branch,ECE branch and Mechanical Engineering branch got placement in 2020. 100% of students got placed from MBA. And for other branch 92-98 percentage students got placed last year.

Recruiting companies are Infosys, HCL,TATA ,Mahindra and many reputed companies.

The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. Getting a CSE seat is getting highly tough these days as the demand is very much. But, with a rank around 3100, you can very easily secure a CSE seat with AI and ML in SRM KTR Campus as the closing rank was around 9,500 - 10,500 for CSE core branch in SRMJEEE 2016. For this rank you can easily get CSE in SRM main campus and for CSE you need to pay 2,50,000 per year.

And if you fulfill the scholarship criteria of SRM then you will also get fee concession like for top 3 rank holders in merit there will be 100% fee waiver, they create the merit list for top 10 students for 100%, 70% and 50% fee waiver so if you fulfill that criteria then definitely you will get that rest if you can't they you have to pay 2,50,000 per year.

To get the CSE seat in KTR campus your rank should be under 10K so if you are coming under this then the path is clear for you to get the CSE seat and for specialization if you are coming under 15k that will be enough.

Still if you won't get the you can get IT whose cutoff rank is under 20K, as every path is open for you, choose whatever you want, there is high chance you will get CSE.
