72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time Doctoral program and it is offered by Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
I) B.E. / B. Tech. / AMIE or equivalent in any branch of Engg.
II) M.E./M. Tech or equivalent in one of the following branches : Computer Science/ Computer Technology/Computer Engineering/ Information Technology/ Information Science.
III) Minimum first class or 6.75 CPI / CGPA on a 10 point scale at Bachelor's or Master's level. IV) Qualified GATE score in the past.

VNIT Nagpur infrastructure good for PhD in Computer Engineering. Department has own building with labs full of computers, servers for AI and simulations. Library huge, access to journals and online stuff, WiFi covers most areas. Hostels okay but old, mess food simple. Campus 215 acres green, sports ground helps relax. Some buildings need AC fix, hot in Nagpur. Fine for research work.
