Adesh Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, Bathinda Admission Process

Adesh Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, Bathinda is a well-known constituent college for providing quality education in pharmacy and biomedical sciences. The goal of the instituting admission procedures is the selection of deserving students for the pharmaceutical education programs. As a constituent college that depends on the parent university, AIPBS follows all admissions procedures defined by its parent university, Adesh University.

The entrance process is simple and free of hassles at AIPBS for deserving students to be selected for pharmaceutical education. The institute bases its selection on how well the applicant does in entrance tests and on his or her academic record. Specific entrance exams are not mentioned for selection purposes for the institutes of pharmacy, but generally, pharmacy institutes use either the national or the state pharmacy entrance exams.

Basic eligibility criteria for admission to AIPBS programs generally include completion of 10+2 programs with relevant subjects for undergraduate courses. Also, master's programs in pharmacy or equivalents and doctoral programs usually require a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or related areas. Each program has specific eligibility criteria that candidates are advised to check.

Application Process

The application procedure for AIPBS probably does not sound an explicit method but instead illustrates a general procedure that most pharmacy institutes use.

1. Commencement ofAdmission: AIPBS announces the beginning of the admission process through the official website and other media channels.

2. Online Application: The candidates are required to fill out an online application form, which is available on the institute's official site. All required information and details must be filled accurately.

3. Annexure Submission: Candidates will submit completed applications with the necessary documents, which may include:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets.
  • Entrance exam score card (if applicable).
  • The certificate of the category (if applying under a specific quota).
  • Diploma certificate (for entry lateral applicants).
  • B.Pharma degree certificate (for Pharm.D Post-Baccalaureates).

4. Payment of Application Fee: Candidates must pay the prescribed application fee through the means specified by the institute.

5. Entrance Exam: In the case of programs that require entrance exams, candidates must appear in the examination on the scheduled date.

6. Merit List Publication: A merit list will be published with the names of selected candidates by AIPBS on the basis of both entrance exam results and other criteria.

7. Counseling and Seat Allotment: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the counseling process where seats will be allotted according to merit and preference basis.

8. Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation: Admission would be confirmed after students pay requisite fees and submit original documents.

9. Orientation and Classes Commencement: The admissions process is completed by attending an orientation course for all admitted students, as regular classes begin afterwards.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B.Pharma program at AIPBS offers 60 seats for the intake. A four-year undergraduate course for the foundation of pharmacy education, admission, as usual, will depend on examination performance and results in 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics core areas.

B.Pharma Lateral Entry: This offers 6 seats for candidates wishing to join directly into the second year of B.Pharma. Minimum eligibility involves usually a diploma in pharmacy or a related field. The selection process may include the candidate's diploma scores and possibly an entrance test.

Pharm.D: AIPBS provides 10 seats for the Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) program. This is a six-year doctoral course for advancing the education of pharmacy. Generally, criteria include performance in passage or pharmacy entrance exams and 10+2 results with essential subjects.

Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate: This course also has 10 seats. This is intended for students with a B.Pharma degree and who wish to pursue a doctorate program in pharmacy. Admission is probably based on B.Pharma performance and may be through an entrance examination or interview.
