Two years ago I have had the fortune of getting an admission into the prestigious Amar Singh College. Amar Singh College’s history goes to 1913 when the government of the day wanted to develop a national class liberal arts college. It was the reign of Maharajas in Kashmir and Amar Singh being the ruler of the day named it after his name. In the din of last century’s competing intellectual pursuits, this college did persist and produced India’s most formidable leaders in academics, bureaucracy and sports. The heritage building in the campus represents the Indo-Aryan blend of architecture which is reflective of tradition and history.
