B.Com Accounting Hons at Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University, Ahmedabad Offline Course

The Amrut Mody School of Management offers undergraduate degree in commerce with major in accountancy and a minor from across schools. Students also get to choose electives from a wide array of open courses offered by other programmes at the School of Management, other schools at Ahmedabad University, and at other universities.

The accounting major is designed to prepare competent accounting professionals who can work in an increasingly complex environment with the help of the broad knowledge of business. The students learn various facets of financial accounting, cost and management accounting, external and internal auditing, business taxation, financial statement analysis, and impact of IFRS on corporate financial reporting. This major will help the students to understand the changing accounting paradigm due to technological advancements, increasing number of Indian companies having global footprints, new evolving taxation regime and compliances. This major will make the students future ready accounting professionals who are able to think strategically, communicate effectively and are tech-savvy. The students will be prepared both for higher studies and to handle challenging and rewarding opportunities in the field of manufacturing and service industries, government and not-for-profit organisations.

The BCom programme evolves constantly as the school updates its syllabus to include learning related to current business trends. We emphasise interactive pedagogy for classroom learning, as well as project-based curricula. The programme focuses on linking classroom knowledge with extra-mural application by supporting regular internships and industrial visits over the course. 

Ahmedabad University has a MoU with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), U.K. which facilitates the pursuit of a global qualification, ACCA, along with the BCom degree. On this track, students gain the privilege of an exemption benefit in 6 out of 14 papers required for ACCA certification.
