24 MonthsThe MS in Economics programme (erstwhile administered as MA Economics) is designed to address complex questions through a deep understanding of economic theory and its application through rigorous data analysis. The Programme provides training to students to apply economic models and tools to the evolving needs of corporations, the financial sector, and policy institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with a minimum of 55 per cent marks in their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. Final year students graduating in 2025 are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have appeared for any one of the following national/international standardised tests – CAT 2025, GATE (2024, 2025 & 2026), JAM 2026, CUET-PG 2026 (COQP10 or SCQP19 or SCQP27).
- Candidates who have not appeared for any one of the above standardised tests or have low scores need to appear for Ahmedabad University’s AMSOM-Postgraduate Aptitude Test.

Classes are well furnished, along with projectors and boards. There is a central library that contains over 100,000 books and journals. The hostel and mess facility are good. Our department building has several laboratories and resources with updated facilities.
