Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari Khurd, Pune was established in June 2009, by the Government of Maharashtra. Entrepreneurship and Development Cell: The objective of the cell is to provide various information with reference to starting a business to budding student entrepreneurs and to create entrepreneurial culture among students. It fosters better linkages between industries and R and D activities of the college and promotes innovation through the establishment of incubation centre. The cell regularly organizes camps, seminars, workshops, industrial visits and other developmental programmes.

NSS volunteers actively take part in a variety of activities, which include blood donation, HIV-AIDS awareness, family life education, functional literacy, help for the visually impaired, college-campus cleanliness, skill development and leadership and personality development.
Anti Ragging Committee: Anti-Ragging Committee of the college ensures compliance with the provisions of the regulations as well as the provisions of the law concerning ragging is in force. I would suggest government college of engineering, Aurangabad over government college of engineering and research, Pune.
Placements in the college are good, quality-wise but not quantity wise. Some students get salary packages up to 7.50 lacs per annum. The average package is approximately 4 lacs per annum.
The infrastructure of our college is quite small, but it is clean. All facilities are available such as basketball court, badminton court, etc. Each department has its own seminar hall, and a big auditorium hall is also available.
Teaching quality is awesome, and most of the teachers interact with various companies as there are various industrial visits planned.
