Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College Library is one of the best and the biggest library in the State. It has over 52000 books and a large number of law reports and journals. The Faculty Library caters to the needs of students and researchers engaged in legal studies and intensive research. Library has the proud privilege of producing the best of teachers, researchers, scholars, legal luminaries and jurists. The Library uses LIBSOFT, (Library Software) for the issue and return of the books with the bar code method. It is about 5340 sq .ft. An active internet facility is provided. The reading area is well furnished witha  reading table and chairs. There isa  separate section for mooters’ for their preparations. Card system and RF. ID system is followed for lending books and electronic equipment for same is arranged.

The college has a fully equipped and functional computer lab accustomed to meeting the needs of law students. The College has a computer Centre with 10 Computers with internet and printers facility for the use of students. A nominal fee of Rs. 5 per hour and printing charges are collected from the students to regulate the misuse of the facility. Photocopying facilities are also made available.

The college has a hygienic canteen which ensures delicious food direct from the kitchen at an affordable price. The canteen has got a seating capacity of 60 with a separate cabin for staff.

The College seminar hall is equipped with the latest Audio and Visual equipment for the conduct of Presentations, Seminars, and personality development. The hall is furnished with Comfortable Chairs with 100 Seating Capacity with Projector Wi-Fi, Audio & Video Facilities.

The college premises the ladies hostel houses over 160 female inmates from various classes.  The hostel building is well secured with a compound wall and has many other facilities including a cyber room, T.V. Room, reading room, sick room, common room and a spacious and hygienic mess hall. Mess fee and other charges are calculated on the basis of diving system. The hostel office functions within the hostel premises. The office is managed by the Hostel Warden and administrative staffs including Clerk, Matron, attendant, security staff, cooks, sanitation workers etc.

The college has a Moot Court Society under the leadership of  Prof. Manoj Krishna A and is. assisted by Dr.Hameema.M and Viji.S. The College hosts Althe l India Moot Court Competition for Justice V R Krishna Iyer's Everrolling Trophy, every year, and the society provides find and training for the mooters’ of the college.

The College has Separate accommodations provided to male students who are admitted to the college at the University Hostel Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram. A separate block is provided to the inmates of this college.

The College language lab which is enabled with outstanding language training software equips aspiring young lawyers with quintessential LSRW (listening, speaking, reading writing) skills. The lab is well organized with 8 computer systems and audio-visual aids.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college boasts of talents which is evident from the prize-winning teams glare as examples. In addition to the outdoor activities we college open vistas for indoor activities like caroms, chess, etc. The college provides funds to conduct annual sports meets.

The College has Classrooms are our tool for more effective and efficient teaching. .In order to cater the needs of our modern education and to enhance the quality of the teaching and learning process GLC, Tvpm has revolutionized the notion of the class room with state of  fully equipped Smart Classroom. It provides the pupil-teachers with firsthand experience demonstration and practical skill development to handle with dexterity different equipment. These rooms are designed with whiteboards and projectors. Collar mike is provided for teachers. Lectern or podium is in every class room. The classrooms are very spacious with proper ventilation and contain ample number of desks and benches for students. PG classes are furnished with Jefferson chairs. There are thirteen class rooms in the campus.
