Himalayan Institute of Pharmacy, Sirmour Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college provides two hostels for boys (Sr. Boys Hostel and Jr. Boys Hostel). The mess of each hostel is equipped with modern facilities. Each hostel has a Residential Warden under the direction of the Chief Warden ensuring the implementation of discipline and the creation of an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Spacious and well-ventilated rooms with adequate furniture and cupboards are available to provide the students with a homely environment. Boys’ hostels are located on the campus and have facilities for outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, basketball, and cricket. There is a shopping complex located on the campus to cater to their day-to-day needs.

The College Girls Hostel is located on the campus and has facilities for indoor games. Special arrangements have been made for the safety, security, and privacy of the girls residing in the hostel. To cater to the requirement of increased intake, further stories have been added to Girls Hostel this year.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College has a library that can be considered a storehouse of knowledge. It plays a very important role in promoting the progress of knowledge. Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions has an automated central library covering an area of 900m square. With the developments in computers, microelectronics, and communication technologies, the behavioral characteristics of information seekers have been changing rapidly and the library is trying its best to adapt to technological advancement. A large number of reference books, and national and international journals on a variety of subjects are also available which assist in processing information and updating knowledge. The library is fully computerized and embellished with a Wi-Fi zone with photocopy and printing facilities. The digital section provides the students with Audio/ Video CDs & CBT. Library services can be availed round the clock. ERP Software has also been instituted in the library system. The libraries at Institutions are more like an integrated Knowledge Resource Center that is stocked with over 5100 books in total, periodicals, references, national and International Journals, and CD-ROMs covering all aspects of academic studies and research material.

College Sports plays are vital for shaping the personality and fitness of a person and giving a global experience to all students. An on-campus sports environment matching global standards is provided to all the students at the college. Since its establishment, the college Sports department has played a vital role in a student’s life by reshaping their personality and adding values like Teamwork and a positive attitude. Being a completely residential campus, it is important that there is a wide variety of sports facilities to keep students engaged and physically fit. The department is continuously expanding to provide support to every individual to pursue the sport of his/her choice.

The College computer labs are fully air-conditioned and the students are privileged to have unlimited access around the clock. The laboratories are equipped with structured fiber optic and UTP cabling networks and other relevant software. The College has state-of-the-art computer laboratories with 410 computers (DELL, ACER & HP make), 5 servers, and 38 printers with a dedicated network. Computer laboratories are being upgraded from time to time to provide the best computational infrastructure. The Computer Centre houses powerful servers, which provide a computational environment comprising of multiple operating systems – Microsoft Windows, Linux & Unix and can be accessed from any of the nodes attached to the servers across the campus.

The college provides has While studying students often get so Hungry and tired that Food and rest cannot appear to them except in the form of a cafeteria, and Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions, Kala-Amb provides its students, staff, and faculty with an amazing café experience in the college campus with its well maintained and well-equipped Cafeteria. The cafeteria is not just a food joint but a place to relax, interact, rejuvenate, and take refuge from the daily hectic schedule!!! For many students who use the Cafeteria regularly, the food purchased there makes a significant contribution to their total food intake and nutrition. In addition to the provision of nutritious food, the Cafeteria has an important role within the broader college environment in complementing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors about healthy eating and lifestyles that are taught in the classroom.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college Safety of our students is our prime concern. Thus, the transport facility is fully equipped to provide the safest & the most convenient transport solution. The college provides excellent transportation facilities with a fleet of buses. Transportation focuses on accessibility rather than mobility and the Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions provides a wide range of transportation facilities. We covered the entire route through our bus system. These buses bring the students and staff to the campus in the morning before the commencement of the classwork and return back after the completion of the classwork. To ensure smooth commuting to and from the college, Himalayan Group Of Professional Institutions runs its fleet of buses for students and staff from Himalayan and beyond, facilitate the movement of students and staff. The route of the transport is decided on the basis of student density in various locations of the city. The buses ensure excellent connectivity throughout Himalayan and nearby villages. A vehicle for emergency purposes is also available round the clock in the service of students.

These rooms have all modern facilities such as A.C., LED, Wi-Fi facility, and so on. These rooms are available for parents and also for students when they come in off-hours. No charges are taken for these rooms.

The College Classrooms have been designed in a form that students can easily and comfortably view the boards and the audio-visual devices without any obstruction. Modern pedagogy is being used by the faculties to make interesting teaching like PPT room, overhead projectors, LCD projectors,s, and magnetic graph boards are also available for the convenience of teachers.
