It is a residential 4-year undergraduate engineering program that focuses on the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of ships and other marine vessels. This course leads to Marine Engineering Officer- Class IV Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India), after six months of sea service after their course.

- Education: 10+2 with PCM, 60% in PCM, 50% in English (10th/12th)
- Age: 17–25 (General), up to 30/32 for reserved categories (as on 01.08.2024)
- Medical: Good eyesight (no color blindness), physically fit as per DG Shipping norms

Yes, Himt college has all the facilities and equipment. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards. The college do have a swimming pool and gym. There’s a ground of playing cricket football and all.
