Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi, popularly known as IICT, has been set up by the Ministry of Textiles under the Government of India in 1998 with an initiative to encourage and brace textile, carpet and other associated industries of India. IICT has since then become a truly functional institute in the year 2001 by launching a BTech (Carpet & Textile Technology) program, an exclusive degree course in Asia, which used to accept only 20 intakes but has been subsequently raised to 60.

The Indian Institute of Carpet Technology has a vision to “To be a Centre of Excellence in Carpet, Textiles and relevant areas of technical education by promoting, aiding and fostering the development of the sector” through the development of human resource and entrepreneurs, providing technical support through developed technology, hi-tech laboratories for design creation and testing, and promote research and development in carpet, textiles and other areas technical education.

Admission procedure for B.Tech
For B.Tech regular courses offered by the Indian Institute for Carpet Technology, Badeshi, the student must have completed 10+2 level education with at least 60% marks from any recognized board. Then the student has to submit an application form either offline or online available on the official website www.iict.ac.in and then students are shortlisted based on their JEE Main exam results as the college has a limited intake of only 60 students.
Admission for short term courses/For Diploma and Certificate courses of Distance learning Courses
The students interested in Diploma and Certificate courses can fill the form available on the official website of IICT www.iict.ac.in along with the registration fee of Rs. 500. Students that take or collect the form from the institute have to submit Rs. 500 whereas those students who wish to receive the form through post have to pay Rs. 600 (extra charges of postal service) through demand draft in favour of Indian Institute for Carpet Technology drawn on any centralized bank and payable at Bhadohi. Then the students are selected on the basis of merit and eligibility. The student must have completed his/her 10th education from any recognized board for Certificate courses whereas Diploma and short-term courses require 10+2 education from any recognized board.
Students pursuing BTech, short term courses or distance courses have the opportunity to receive a scholarship under various schemes offered by the Central Government and State Government as there are no scholarships provided by the college.
IICT helps students to receive scholarships from the State government for students of different states which can enable students from poor financial backgrounds to enter this institute and also the students belonging to SC, ST and OBC backgrounds.
The Placement Cell of the institute is a very efficient body which enables almost 70% of students to be placed every year consistently with great packages. It has high placement rates with a maximum salary of Rs. 1,10,000 per month to an average salary of Rs. 23,000 per month in the year 2020-21.

The campus is protected from all types of pollution, offering a peaceful environment for research and studies spread over 10 acres of land, including state-of-the-art administrative buildings consisting of classrooms, labs, conference halls, libraries, design studios, museums and workshops.
The college is designed with facilities such as separate Boys & Girls Hostels, Residences for the employees, Open Air Theatre, Playground, Electricity and Water Distribution System. Other services and facilities are under development. The Institute also acquired 20 acres of land from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Bhadohi for its second phase of expansion.
Indian Institute of Carpet Technology Bhadohi is the only college in Asia that has a carpet and textile branch. The faculty of the college is very knowledgeable and friendly. And the size of the classroom is medium.The college has many facilities like library, sports center, saprate hostels for boys and girls,WiFi and LAN, Open air theatre, conference hall etc.

As per the previous year cutoff data, he minimum marks required in GUCET to take admission in Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar are 120 marks.
