Hi Candidate,

NEST is the entrance examination for getting a seat into the top Research Oriented college of the country National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and CEBS (Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences), which is held once a year.

The cut-off for NISER and CEBS not only includes the total Cut-off but also the Subject- Wise cut-off for individual Subjects. Hence, inorder to get a rank you have to clear individual Subject-Wise cutoff as well as the total Cut-off.

Hope that this answer is helpful. Have a Good Day!!

Both are the decent Institutes. Visva-Bharati was declared to be a Central University and "An Institution of National Importance" .
Here, You are taught all the basic subjects such as Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, etc. For first 2 years and then on the basis of your academic performance you are allowed to take major in a specific subject in your 3rd year.
The quality and standard of studies is also good and focused for research purpose. But study isn't that deep.

You can check the other detail with the given below link.

The academic programmes at NISER are deemed to be conducted through the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, which is affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute. NISER insists on student evaluation of each course. Here, Students are encouraged to think in terms of making a qualitative difference in their learning outcomes rather than merely attend classes. You can check the other detail about it with the given below link.

Thank you !

Hello Satyajit,

The cutoff depends on factors like number of applicants, number of seats available, minimum marks secured, difficulty level of the exam etc. So based on previous cutoffs when you see,150 is the cutoff needed for SC category to get admission in NISER BHubaneswar. Hence for your score chances are pretty low in NISER but you can go for CEBS ,Mumbai.

Checkout this article to see the cutoffs :

Hope this helps.

Dear aspirant,

The last year cutoff rank of NEST for general category was around 350. So yes, you do have a chance of getting admission in NISER or CEBS. Usually the seats go vacant , so I suggest you stay till second/third round of counseling.

For further details you can visit the official website of the colleges.

Regards!!

Hi Aspirant ,

It is quite difficult to explain because the seat is offered in NISER according to the previous year cutoff which is for SC category it is 150 , based on number of applicants , number of seats ,minimum marks scored .If you want to know the latest news about NISER follow this link : https://university.careers360.com/articles/nest-cutoff

BEST OF LUCK.

Hello,

It is quite difficult to predict because cut off depends on number of applicants, total number of seats available, minimum marks secured in the exam and difficulty level of exam. It changes depending on these factors. in 2019 the cut off was 800 for general category for NISER, Bhubaneshwar considering this you have decent chances of getting seat in NISER, Bhubaneshwar. But as said cut off may change.

Hey Tanu,

Getting into NISER is difficult, as it is one of the most prestigious institutes that gives admission to top rankers for the integrated MSc course.

Moreover, the huge number of candidates appearing for NEST makes it even harder.

According to last year's cut-off, the closing rank for NISER Bhubaneswar, for General Category was 800. Cut offs may vary little bit this year based on the changes in the number of candidates who appeared this year, availability of seats and even due to difficulty level of the paper. But your chances for getting admission are little less.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hey!

NISER gives admission to top rankers for its integrated MSc course.

Tallying with cut off ranks of previous few years, it can be predicted that your chances for getting admission in NISER is quite low.

As because last year's, closing rank for General Category was 800 and for OBC category it was 280.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

The cut off for NISER changes every year. The cut off depends on various factors. These factors include the number of applicants, total number of seats, minimum marks secured, previous year cut off trends, the difficulty level of exam and many more other factors. The last year's cut off rank for NISER was 800 for General category and 280 for the OBC category. On comparing with last year cut off, there are chances of getting a seat in NISER.
