Our classrooms are large and spacious, it actually gives you a nostalgic feeling studying in a vintage classroom. But it also have all the necessities like smart boards and wifi connections, large black board. It’s always kept clean and neat.
Academics
I’ve actually did Triple Major in English Major, Journalism and psychology. The teachers are highly qualified and very friendly. The subjects and the portions are covered properly before our internal examinations, and the teachers are very supportive. The curriculum is regularly updated and studying journalism is fun because we get to watch good documentaries, movies and shows as part of our syllabus. Psychology classes are a different experience all together, the practicals are enlightening.

Placements are good if you really want to get into placements and you can contact the placement cell of the college and they’ll guide you to get placed in good companies according to your interests. Campus Life
The best thing I’ve had was the campus life, the friends I’ve got from Aloysius are still my close friends. The first year is really special, as we get to meet new students, being part of different clubs and associations. Also spending your free time in Mother Teresa Peace park is a vibe.. and going to campus cafe for an ice cream scoop. It’s so good. The location is near to city centre mall mangalore and is near to railway station also. It’s safe.

I studied BSC in Biotechnology and quality of teaching is not so good. The curriculum remains the same almost. The study does no make you job ready and it become very difficult to get job after this degree.

THe pacement quality of the college is wrost. You have to find the job by yourself. The faculty sometime share the job if they get any but it become very difficult to get one. You can expect somewhat between 12-15k per month after this course.

We do have free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned labs, library and studio. We also do have hostels for girls with football grounds, basketball courts and table tennis. The food is very hygienic, and hygiene is maintained throughout the campus.

Our college campus is very big and open. It has lots and lots of trees and greenery. We have separate building for different degrees. We have proper canteens and food facilities. One problem of having a campus this big is the walking distance from one place to another. Students can participate in cultural, sports as well as technological activities. It is pretty good. Spacious with a fully digitalized central library and an advanced computing centre, NIT Silchar makes into the top NITs in terms of its infrastructures and facilities. However, the internet speed at some of the hostels is below average ranging from about 0.5 MBPS to about 1 MBPS. The internet speeds at the library and computer centres are quite satisfactory though.

This is a question which will definitely receive mixed reactions. Of course the academics are quite good. But the class durations sometimes becomes quite hectic. And there are a few professors who actually are good at teaching. The rest of them can be just rated as average in terms of colleges. One can do everything in the campus, just they need to maintain a 75% attendance.

Check the official website and judge the placement scenario accordingly. While the average is a fairly decent 15-24 LPA, the highest touches to about 80 LPA (just rough figures as per current statistics). Almost every big tech company visits the campus during the placement season.

Hi there! I attended Nit Silchar, and I must say that the quality of placements was pretty good. As far as I know, around 80% of the students were placed, which is quite impressive. The highest salary package offered was around 20 LPA, and it went to a student from the CSE department. The average salary offered was around 6-7 LPA, which is quite decent, I think Speaking from personal experience, the placement process was quite smooth and hassle-free. The college was really supportive.
