RRKS College of Pharmacy, Bidar Admission Process

RRKS College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest colleges of pharmacy in Karnataka. The institution offers all pharmacy programs from the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) to the Master of Pharmacy(M.Pharm) and Ph.D. levels. The admission processes at RRKS College of Pharmacy aim to select deserving and hardworking candidates in various programs. In the case of B.Pharm undergraduate programs, admission is on a merit basis; whereas, for M.Pharm, candidates are admitted based on their scores in the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), a national-level test conducted for pharmacy graduates.

While the academic calendar generally begins in August–September, the admission process starts about a couple of months prior. In view of B.Pharm, the basic eligibility criteria indicate the completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. Application Process

The application process at RRKS College of Pharmacy Bidar differs for each program:

For B.Pharm and D.Pharm programs:

  1. Visit the admission office to obtain details regarding the application.

  2. Download or collect and fill out the application form with correct personal and academic details.

  3. Attach all required documents like 10+2 mark sheets, Proof of date of birth, selection of qualification certificates, etc.

  4. Submit the duly filled application along with the demanded fees before the due date to the college admission office.

For M.Pharm programs:

  1. Qualify the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).

  2. Watch for announcements regarding M.Pharm admission.

  3. Fill in the M.Pharm application form with GPAT score and other relevant information.

  4. Submit your application form with the GPAT score card, B.Pharm. Degree certificate, mark sheets, and all other requested documents.

  5. Short-listed candidates may be called to appear for other screening processes, if any.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B. Pharm: Bachelor of Pharmacy program has an intake capacity of 60 seats as approved. Admissions are granted based on merit and the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination (10+2). The program has a duration of four years delivering comprehensive knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences.

M. Pharm: Admission is in the specialization of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Admission is almost purely on GPAT scores. Candidates possessing B.Pharm can apply. Further screening processes may be carried out by the college.

D. Pharm: The Diploma in Pharmacy program has an approved intake of 60 seats. Admission is based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

Ph.D.: Specific details about the Ph.D. admission process are generally based on the academic background, research proposal, and performance in the interview of the candidate conducted by the college.

The required documents for admission generally are:

  • A filled application form.

  • Passport-size photographs.

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, B.Pharm. as applicable).

  • GPAT score card (for M.Pharm. applicants).

  • What to submit: Transfer certificate; Migration certificate (if applicable); Caste certificate (if applicable); Any other certificates as specified by the college.
