Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya is merit-based and transparent so that all eligible candidates stand the same chance for admission into the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The college follows the reservation policy of the government.
The eligibility criterion is generally based on the qualifying examination marks. For some courses such as B.Ed, the entrance examination marks and any other criteria of selection announced by the State Government/UT or the participating University may also be looked at.
Application Process
Admission Announcement: Admission is taken far ahead with announcement on the official college website and in local newspapers.
Application Form: Application forms are available online and/or in the college admission office.
Document Submission: Duly filled-in applications are required to be submitted along with:
Marksheets of qualifying examinations
Transfer certificate
Character certificate
Caste certificate (if applicable)
Recent passport-sized photographs
Application Fee: The application fee should be paid as prescribed by the college.
Merit List: The college shall prepare a merit list based on specific criteria laid down for each course.
Counseling and Admission: Candidates shortlisted according to the merit list file must appear in counseling, where documents would be verified, sessions of counseling would be held, and fees would be deposited.
Commencement of Classes: Date of class initiation would be communicated to admitted students.
Degree-specific Admission Process
BA: 750 seats are available. Admission on merit in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
B.Sc: 500 seats are available. Admission on the merit in two science subjects at the qualifying level.
B.Ed: 100 seats are available. Admissions will be made based on merit obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in an entrance examination as per the directions of the Government and the University.
MA (Urdu, Sanskrit, Home Science, Geography, Hindi): Each program will have 50 seats. The basis of eligibility for MA will be merit in a Bachelor Degree relevant to that discipline.
M.Sc. (Zoology, Chemistry, Botany): Each with 50 seats, Admissions are based on merit and consider marks obtained in the respective undergraduate degree.
