Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya is merit-based and transparent so that all eligible candidates stand the same chance for admission into the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The college follows the reservation policy of the government.
Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya admission criterion is generally based on the qualifying examination marks. For some courses such as B.Ed in Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya, the entrance examination marks and any other criteria of selection announced by the State Government/UT or the participating University may also be looked.

750 seats are available for BA. Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya admission on merit in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
500 seats are available for B.Sc. Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya admission on the merit in two science subjects at the qualifying level.
100 seats are available for B.Ed. Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya admissions will be made based on merit obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in an entrance examination as per the directions of the Government and the University.
Each programme will have 50 seats. The basis of eligibility for MA will be merit in a Bachelor Degree relevant to that discipline.
Each M.Sc programme is formulated with 50 seats. Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya admissions are based on merit and consider marks obtained in the respective undergraduate degree.
