Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Pharmacy, Vasan Admission Process

The Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Pharmacy (SVBIP), Vasan, and soon earned the honour of being a reputed institution in pharmaceutical education. Approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, the institution runs three courses under two undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The admission in SVBIP goes through merit, which considers the candidates' performance in respective entrance examinations recognized for different programs. The B.Pharma admission requires the candidate to appear for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) or NEET for that corresponding admission year. The eligibility states that the candidate must have completed the qualifying examination from any recognized institution within Gujarat or from any recognized Board outside Gujarat.

For M.Pharma, a candidate must hold a valid GPAT or Gujarat PGCET score as prescribed by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) requirements. Around the month of July or August, admissions are generally held, ushering in the new academic year. The prospective students should keep checking the official website of SVBIP as well as the portals of the entrance examinations for specific deadlines regarding applications, date of examinations, and date of result announcement.

Application Process

Application to Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Pharmacy varies with the program:

For B.Pharma:

  1. Appear for GUJCET or NEET in the current admission year.
  2. Go to the official website of ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) Gujarat.
  3. Register themselves and fill the online application for B.Pharma admission.
  4. Upload all the required documents with GUJCET/NEET score card, 12th standard marksheets, and other necessary certificates.
  5. Pay the application fee as specified by ACPC.
  6. Submit the filled form.
  7. Wait for ACPC to declare the merit list.
  8. If shortlisted, appear for counselling for allotment of seats.

For M.Pharma (Pharmaceutics and Quality Assurance):

  1. Test for GPAT or Gujarat PGCET with a valid score.
  2. Go to the M.Pharm. admissions link on the ACPC website.
  3. Register and fill the online form for M.Pharm admission.
  4. Upload all required documents: GPAT/Gujarat PGCET score card, B.Pharm degree certificate and marksheets, and any other relevant certificates.
  5. Pay the admission fee as per the instructions of ACPC.
  6. Submit the completed application.
  7. Wait for the merit list-preferably-to be declared by the ACPC.
  8. If selected, candidates must register themselves for the counselling process.

Generally required documents for admission include:

  • Passport size photography
  • GUJCET/NEET/GPAT/Gujarat PGCET score card (as applicable)
  • 10th and 12th standard marksheets and certificates
  • B.Pharma degree certificate and marksheets (for M.Pharma applicants)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (if required)
  • Any other relevant certificates as specified by the institute or ACPC.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: The B.Pharma program at SVBIP has been granted an approved intake of 60 students. Admission is done based on the performance of candidates in GUJCET or NEET. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have appeared and passed either of the mentioned examinations in the current admission year.

M.Pharma Pharmaceutics: This postgraduate program has an approved intake capacity of 15 students. For the purpose of admission, candidates must have a valid GPAT score or Gujarat PGCET score as prescribed by ACPC.

M.Pharma Quality Assurance: This program likewise has an approved intake of 15 students; tutelage is offered in the same manner as this advanced degree in Pharmaceutics. Admission criteria are similar and consist of a valid GPAT or Gujarat PGCET score, following ACPC guidelines.
