The college library, which is a well-equipped and efficiently maintained library with a computerized, user-friendly KOHA filing system, functions as an invaluable aid to every aspiring scholar. The Library employs the LIBSYS computerized library management system, and several terminals are provided for students and faculty members to search for books/journals online. 

The college has Modern education that lays great emphasis on supplementing mental exercise in the classroom with physical activities of several types outside the classroom. Apart from workouts and yoga, sports activities provide excellent exercise to various body parts and are highly recommended by experts in Physical Education. Sports are extremely important not only for physical activity but also for developing certain attributes such as team spirit, leadership skills, and decision-making. The importance of games for students has been a concern for the founders of Shia College, who allocated a big piece of land for the playground. The college playground has been an important venue for various intercollegiate competitions. It was in 1983 that the College first organized its annual sports event named SHIAD, which was a memorable milestone in its sporting history. Recently, the playground has been upgraded by constructing a new cricket pitch and a pavilion in the Imam Raza Block. This stadium has been renamed as King Naseeruddin Haider Stadium to pay homage to the erstwhile king of Awadh, who built a Karbala Trust, which later donated land for the construction of the existing campus of Shia College.

The college has an Iman Hall, and the Saeedul Millat Hall are two big Seminar Halls/Auditoriums of the College that are well equipped to cater to the academic needs of the College. 

The college has the Holistic development of students, involving both mental and physical faculties of the body, as the prime goal of education. Since a sound mind resides in a healthy body, good mental health cannot be achieved without taking appropriate steps to build physical strength. Physical activities such as brisk walking, yoga, or workouts are extremely helpful in burning excess fat and stimulating the muscles to grow. Realizing the utmost importance of physical health for students as well as teachers, the management of Shia PG College has established a Health and Wellness Centre, which has been named ‘Hazrat Abu Talib Activity Centre’. 

The college Canteen is one of the essential facilities being offered by the college to its students, staff members, and visitors from outside. In our college, it is flanked by Mursale Azam Block and Imam Raza Block, and is hence situated in the middle of the college. Besides, its closeness to the college playground makes it even more useful for players and onlookers in times of sporting events. The purpose of the Canteen is to provide healthy refreshments and prevent students from going to restaurants outside, where the quality of items being served is not very good. Further, the availability of snacks on the campus saves precious time for students, which would have gone to waste in going to food outlets in the vicinity of the college. The canteen is also a meeting point for students from diverse disciplines, and such interactions often lead to a very fruitful exchange of ideas. For college alumni, the time spent in the canteen is a source of pleasant memories that make them feel nostalgic about their alma mater.

The college has laboratories of Botany and Zoology, sophisticated microscopes, and other laboratory equipment that are made available for the convenience of students. In Zoology laboratories, ethical treatment of sentient life forms is ensured, and an ethical committee looks after this aspect. Zoology laboratories are specially equipped to cater to the needs of MSc students. There is an instrument room consisting of modern instruments such as centrifuges, spectrophotometers, a  Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, electrophoresis systems, and a lot more. It is hoped that with the newly acquired provision of research guidance by college teachers, the research facilities and also laboratories, by extension, will get a facelift in the near future.

The College has internet and related technologies, which have provided novel alternatives to conventional teaching. Online teaching can effectively compensate for offline mode during crises. This has recently been witnessed in the aftermath of COVID-19, when online platforms such as Zoom Cloud Sharing, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet rescued the teaching-learning process from collapsing by arranging virtual classrooms during the pandemic. However, internet connectivity with good speed is an important prerequisite for online teaching, which requires the transfer of an enormous amount of data in the form of text files, PPTs, animations, and educational videos. Keeping this in view, the college offers hassle-free net connectivity anywhere on the campus through a Wi-Fi line that is accessible to teachers and students all the time. Reliance Jio Infocomm is the ISP of this Wi-Fi connection, and it provides a speed of 50 Mbps on a leased line, which is extremely good for all practical purposes. The Wi-Fi facility is critical not only for online teaching but also accelerates the functioning of the office and the college library.

The college has a “Moot” has its genesis in the Anglo-Saxon times, when a moot (gemot) was nothing but a gathering of prominent men in a particular locality to discuss the issues of local importance. Presently, in a Moot Court, new knowledge and experiences are acquired and used practically. It connects the budding lawyers to real court experiences. The Moot Court experience for Law students develops their skills and capabilities to identify the legal subject, to arrange different Law materials, to prepare pleadings and arguments, to understand the obligations of an advocate, to face cross-examinations, to control their temperament during Judicial proceedings, etc. Moot Court practice develops a greater degree of professionalism among Law students, especially in their attitude and approach as well. A Judge has to administer justice, and an Advocate has to assist a Judge during the whole Judicial proceedings. A Law student finds himself or herself in both the capacities of Lawyer and Judge when he/she participates in a Moot Court competition.

The College was a time when classroom teaching was all about chalk and blackboard. However, technology has changed things drastically, and traditional green/whiteboards are being replaced by interactive boards that make use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. Therefore, the college has built 10 smart classrooms on the campus. Each ICT-enabled smart classroom has an interactive board and is equipped with the facility to record the lecture. It comes with an inbuilt computer, a scanner, and a projector. Teachers have the facility to share content directly from the internet, run PowerPoint presentations, and do regular classroom activities on ICT-enabled interactive boards.
