Smt. Sharadchandrika Suresh Patil Institute of Technology & D. Pharmacy at Chopda offers two pharmacy programs B.Pharma and D.Pharma. Established in Maharashtra, the institute boasts of a huge campus where it endeavors to provide quality education in pharmacy to its would-be students.
Although the institute is in India, admissions and the selection procedures are strictly on a merit basis. For admission into the D.Pharma scheme, notifications and counseling are held under the D-Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The institute fills each category-wise seat according to the merit list for each category so that the whole process remains totally transparent.
Usually, the academic year starts from August-September, and the admission process is carried out a few months prior to this. For students planning to enroll, it is strongly suggested to keep in regular contact with the admissions office regarding changes with respect to admission date(s), application procedure, and crucial deadline(s). Eligibility criteria for admission into pharmacy programs include passing the qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates must also have obtained minimum aggregate percentage criteria as specified by the regulatory authorities for both programs.
Application Process
1. Eligibility Confirmation: Kindly check that you meet eligibility requirements for all desired courses (B.Pharma or D.Pharma).
2. Entrance Test: Those can include D.Pharma; B.Pharma will mostly follow them unless national or state-level examinations for pharmacy are required.
3. Application Form Submission: Whenever there is any announcement regarding admissions, eligible candidates can apply through the prescribed procedure it might include either online through the DTE portal or any other prescribed procedure.
4. Document Checklist: These are generally some of the documents usually needed:
Mark sheets along with Pass certificates for 10th and 12th
Entrance exam scorecard (if applicable)
Category certificate (for reserved category candidates)
Domicile certificate (if applicable)
Recent passport-size photographs
Any other documents mentioned in the admission notification
5. Counseling Process: The candidates of D.Pharma have to attend the counseling round organized by DTE according to the given schedule. The procedure may be similar for B.Pharma, or there could be a different counseling system organized by the institute.
6. Merit Lists: The institute would prepare merit lists of both D.Pharma and B.Pharma according to the performance of the candidates in any of the qualifying exam or entrance test, as per the prescribed norms of admission.
7. Seat Allocation: The seats are then allotted to candidates as per merit list, preferences of candidate, and number of available category-wise seats.
8. Fee Payment: After this, the candidate will be allotted a seat and has to pay the required fees within the stipulated time for admission confirmation.
9. Documents Verification: Candidates are needed to report to the institute for verification of original documents as per the specified schedule.
10. Admission Confirmation: Once the candidate has paid the required fees and the original documents have been verified, admission will be confirmed.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The B.Pharma program at Smt. Sharadchandrika Suresh Patil Institute of Technology & D. Pharmacy has an approved intake of 100 seats for the B.Pharma program. The program lasts for four years intensive studies to provide the students with sound knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences. Admission into the B.Pharma program will depend most likely on the performance of the candidates in the relevant entrance exams and on their academic merit, the exact details of which remain unknown from the data examined.
D.Pharma: The D.Pharma program has a well laid down admission procedure. It has an intake of 60 seats for the two years. Admissions into D.Pharma are carried out by the DTE through notifications and counseling rounds. Category-wise seats are accordingly filled as per the merit list of the respective category ensuring an equitable and fair admission process.
