Sree Narayana College, Punalur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college library acts as a helpful source of learning and provides adequate learning resources to the students. It opens doors to the wide world of books, reading, knowledge, and pleasure. The Library of Sree Narayana College, Punalur has a long history of more than 50 Years in parallel with the history of the college, which was established on 15 July 1965. The library consists of three rooms: a reading room, a stack room, and a reference room. The total number of books in the library is 21,41,2, and the number of journals is 22. Five newspapers are also available in the library. The reference books are around 3250. The time is from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. The membership is restricted to students, teachers, and non-teaching staff.

The Auditorium of the college with its vowed objective provides a recreational abode for both the students as well as teaching and non-teaching faculties. Inaugural functions, Competitions, Orientation programs, General meetings, Exhibitions, Yoga sessions, etc., are conducted at the auditorium. The Auditorium is equipped with audio-visual facilities and has a seating capacity of approximately 800 students. Besides these, the auditorium comprises a wide platform where all the cultural programs are staged. The auditorium also constitutes a Badminton court where interested students have their practices in the evening after class hours. The Auditorium has witnessed all the major landmarks in the history of the college.

The college canteen functions effectively on campus, providing healthy vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, including snacks and lunch, to the students and faculty members. The canteen is fully furnished with separate seating arrangements for the students and the faculty.

The multi-gymnasium of our college is the epicenter of sports, aiming at the holistic well-being of students and staff. It has been equipped with a twelve-station multi gym, fitness treadmill, spin bike, smith machine, functional trainer machine, squat stand, hack squat machine, kettle weights, free weights, barbells, dumbbells, abdominal crunch, etc, to perform a wide range of strength training and cardiovascular exercises. This platform for the training of our students and faculty is intended to achieve the motto "A healthy mind exists in a healthy body".

A women’s hostel functions within the college campus and aims to provide food and accommodation to female students from distant places. The hostel has accommodation facilities for thirty-two students. It has well-furnished bedrooms, washrooms, and study areas. The hostel focuses on students' overall welfare and targets to create a homely atmosphere. The hostel follows a code of conduct that molds students to be disciplined and self-reliant. A teaching faculty member or the principal will be in charge of the warden.
