The University of Delhi has introduced Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) at the under graduate level from the academic session 2015-16.

B.A. Honours Punjabi is a 3-year full-time undergraduate degree course, the minimum eligibility for admission a candidate should have secured – a) An aggregate 45% marks in the qualifying examination. b) Applicants securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the concerned are also eligible for admission to B.A. (Honours) Punjabi.

The program is spread over 6 semesters, with the final semester based on the candidate’s chosen stream of study.

The course has provided opportunity to college to work towards the growth of Punjabi Language and bring the present generation close to Punjabi Language, Literature and the rich Punjabi culture which is full of values.

Eligibility Criteria

 An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

• Candidates securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned are also eligible for admission to the relevant Honours Program.

• Candidates who have passed the intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and also one of the following examinations shall be eligible for admission to the respective subject of the Honours Program given below:

Gyani in Punjabi

• The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects from List A and List B above.

 • Inclusion of any subject other than those from List A and List B in the combination of best three will lead to a deduction of 2.5% per such subject included in the aggregate “Best Four” percentage. 

• For admission to Honours in any language program, advantage of 2% will be given in the aggregate ‘Best Four’ percentage to those Candidates who have studied that particular elective language.

 • In case the Candidate has not studied a language at qualifying examination level and is seeking admission to an Honours program in that language, deduction of 5% will be imposed on ‘Best Four’ aggregate percentage

Admission Details

  • Candidates from all categories interested in seeking admission in undergraduate courses in Delhi University are required to fill up the pre-admission form available online at University of Delhi portal. This is mandatory for all candidates. Kindly refer to University Website (http://du.ac.in) for pre- admission guidelines. The college announces the cut-off as per university admission schedule. Students qualifying for this cut off can seek admission in the respective courses after online submission of necessary documents and fees.

    No individual intimation will be given to any candidate.

    The eligibility of candidates for admission will be decided based on cut-off percentage declared by college and eligibility criteria specified by university. The eligible candidates must complete online admission formalities within notified dates.

    Candidates selected for admission will be required to:

    • Fill and submit the college admission Form
    • Fill and submit the University Enrolment Form
    • Fill and submit Identity Card Form
    • Fill and submit Student Information Form
    • Submit the documents as specified in checklist.
  • Admission to college is provisional and is subject to the final approval of the University on submission of University Enrolment form by the Student.

    Students admitted to the college will be bound by the admission rules and regulations of the college and the University of Delhi.
