University College of Engineering Kariavattom more commonly known as UCEK was set up in the year 2000. Sitting in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, the college occupies about 367.18 acres of land. UCEK being a constituent college is affiliated to All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE). UCEK’s niche is attained through focused areas of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology to meet the industry demands in the technology sector.
University College of Engineering has an assortment of numerous facilities to enhance its learning processes and activities. One major facility is the library which holds an impressive stock of technical books and has its membership in leading journals and magazine. This attribute makes it the first of its kind as an automated library in the list of engineering colleges in Kerala. The campus has a central computer and Internet services which help students to get information and improve their knowledge. For health and wellness, UCEK has employed a medical team that include doctors, nurses and health workers. Contained here is also a listing of sport facilities to meet the needs of all students of the college. Ensuring the necessities of students of different type, three canteens are available in the campus providing hygienic and quality food at very cheap rates, a college store providing educational requirements and stationery material, newspapers etc.
University College of Engineering Kariavattom offers a limited number of engineering undergraduate courses. We have a huge library with many gems of books, research papers, publications and periodicals that serves the needs of the faculty and students at campus. The central computing point serves as the hub of computing resources, and is shared by various departments and offices of the institution. Students can fulfill their academic needs by the judicious use of online resources from the computing facility. A central Wi-Fi connection is also set up at campus for students. No hostels are available.

University College of Engineering,Kariavattom was founded in 2000. The college has worked well at national level in all aspects of technical education since its inception and has grown from a small under-100 institution. students at a multicultural 125-hectare college campus. CET is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), the AICTE body. In the NIRF scenario for 2021, the institute received 11th and 95th place in the construction and engineering categories respectively.
Currently, the college offers 68 courses that specialize in computer science, engineering, management and architecture among others. CET offers B.Tech courses in civil, mechanical, electronics and electronics, electrical and communications, computer science, application electronics and metals, and industrial engineering. Then there are M.Tech courses in more than 25 fields such as architecture, propulsion, thermal, geotechnical engineering, etc. The B.Arch courses offered by the college are one of the best in the country.
In addition to technical education, students can also choose MCA, MBA, M.Plan and M.Arch courses after qualifying for the entrance exam respectively and their eligibility. The institute has a number of research institutes that could lead to Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kerala and the University of Kerala University of Technology in mechanical, social, electrical, computer science, electrical and communications engineering, construction, and business administration.
