72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned and the course offered by Periyar University, Salem.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate should have obtained a Master’s degree with not less than 55% of marks or an equivalent grade. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST community and those who have qualified for a Master’s degree before 19th September 1991 the minimum eligibility marks shall be 50% in their Master’s degree.
