The Solar Energy online course is an eight-week course offered by the Delft University of Technology- one of the largest technological universities in the Netherlands. This introductory course explores the different technologies, principles underlying photovoltaic conversion, solar module constructions, and solar cell fabrications.
Students will receive an online ebook “Solar Energy- Basics, Systems, and Technology” at no extra charge for learning. Solar Energy Certification Syllabus assigns one topic per week, replete with assignments, exams, exercises, and lecture videos. Moreover, this online course focuses on electricity generation from solar energy. The latest advancements in solar technology such as crystalline silicon, thin films, and other lab-scale examples are also covered.
Mr. Arno Smets from the Delft University of Technology instructs the course. He was the first recipient of the Exceptional Contributions by edX to online teaching and learning. Mr. Smets teaches Computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematics. Lastly, a verified Solar Energy Certification is also available to learners after completing the program and may the minimal required fee.
