To apply for the diploma courses, candidates should have completed Class 10th. The total duration of the DY Patil Polytechnic course is 3 years. There are a total 270 seats in the Polytechnic course. DY Patil University offers Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering.

• For admission in 1st year- 10th passed with 35% aggregate marks
• For admission in 2nd year- 12th Science/ Vocational/ ITI passed with 35% aggregate marks (PCM/ PCB/ PCMB)

• Candidates with Indian Nationality should satisfy the below-given eligibility criteria for admission to DYPU BTech. 

• Aspirants should have passed 10+2 exam with Physics/ Mathematics /Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/IT / Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship OR passed min. 3 years Diploma exam OR qualified IB(International Baccalaureate) diploma with a minimum score of 24 Credits OR BSc degree with 50% marks.

• The minimum marks in qualifying exams should be 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks for SC/ST/OBC, EWS and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only)

• Candidates should have a valid scores in JEE Main or MHT-CET

• Candidates should have passed HSC or its equivalent exam with English as a compulsory subject OR Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks,SC/ST/OBC, EWS and Persons with Disability candidates).
• Alongside, they must have exceptional reports in Co-Curricular and extra-curricular activities and declared qualified in the written exam conducted at DYPU.
• Candidates should have qualified in UCEED/NID DAT or equivalent.
• Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply DY Patil Pune BDes course.

• Candidates should have passed a Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from AICTE or State Government approved institutions or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks (at least 45 % for SC/ST/OBC and Person with Disability of Maharashtra State only )

• Must have obtained a Non-Zero positive score in the GATE exam OR

• For sponsored candidates, a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a registered company or institute.
