Dear aspirant
IIIT kancheepuram is a good college as compared to other NITS and also all IIITS are having great placement record. So according to your question I will prefer you to go for IIIT. Try to search which IIIT is having metallurgy. Because this subject has a good scope in present as well as in future also. NIT is also a good college you can go for it but IIIT is far better than NIT.
All the best
Hi Jagan,
IIITDM in Kancheepuram is a good college for mechanical department. The placement is little bit lower than other departments of the college. At around 30% of the students gets placed. The highest salary package offered is 5.5 LPA and lowest is 3.5LPA. Companies like Tata Motors, Saint Gobain recruit students from this college.
Faculty wise, this college has good teachers with highly qualified degrees and are very knowledgeable. They are very helpful when you have doubts or difficulties faced. The curriculum is very relevant.
In terms of infrastructure, there are good facilities for students. There are smart classes, WiFi available, good library facilities, and good hostel rooms. There are medical facilities also available. There are various sports grounds available for students to play different games.
Overall, it is a very good college.

Hello Naveen
With your rank you can easily get admission in both of them.IIIT Kancheepuram has a little bit better facilities as compared to Jabalpur , the fees for both are same Rs5.30 lakh for 4 years, both have a good and equal rating, the median salary of jabalpur is Rs7.50 lakh per annum and for kancheepuram it is Rs 5.25 lakh per annum . I have attached a link where you can compare and see it for yourself and two links for each of the college where you will get all the information of those colleges and choose a college whichever suits you more as they are both nearly equal.

Hello Aspirant,
As you know that NIT Jaipur is better than IIIT Kancheepuram but the branch you get in nit Jaipur is not so good so according to my view and placement statics you can go for iiit Kancheepuram with mechanical branch.
In last I want to say that go for that branch which you would like or choose branch according to your interest.
Although IIIT Jabalpur has a larger campus and infrastructure, IIIT Kancheepuram being located near IT and Industrial Hubs at Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad provide better impetus to training and placements. Last season in CSE there were more than 85% placements with companies like TVS L&T Infotech, Infosys, Amazon, TCS Digital, Cognizant, Accenture, Honeywell being top recruiters. Secondly being near Top National Institutes like IIT Madras , IISc Bangalore and NIT Trichy, further provides good mentorship and research potential to the institute and in long time might just help you in bagging internship or project opportunities.
