IIM IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD THERE ARE MANY PRIVATE COLLAGES WHICH ARE COMPETING WITH IIMs . COLLAGE  LOCATION IS ALWAYS THE  ADVANTAGE MEANS METRO !!

You have an excellent profile which will serve as an advantage for IIM Ahmedabad Shortlist for Interview and further rounds. All you need to do is to get the best score in CAT which will enhance your chances of shortlisting for further rounds of selection.

IIM Ahmedabad focuses on diversity in its batch and hence you will face a tough competition in the interview rounds where you will compete with some of the best brains of the country. You should have a good profile and CV to ace the interviews. So keep enhancing your profile and try to score above 99.5 percentile for standing a good chance for the shortlist.

All the best!

Arts is not a problem but 68 and 58 can prove to be a problem. Try harder beyond 99 and you might get a call if You fulfill the eligibility criteria.

As you know, Apart from cutoffs, There are various factors for shortlisting and selection in IIMs or other top B School after clearing CAT Entrance exam with good score such as past academic records, Extra curricular activity, work experience etc. As per the criteria you should have minimum 60% in your academic to apply for IIM A B C so the chances are less for it but you can expect the call from new IIMs or other top B School because each IIM does not strict for academic records.

As per your educational background you have average performance records in your past academics and so you will be required to work more hard for the entrance and later selection rounds.
So what I suggest you is aim scoring above 98 percentile to get into top bschools through CAT and other top management colleges through CAT.

Yes it can be difficult to get in IIM A and B as they are strict with the past academics.
You will have to work harder than the average, focus more, manage and perform better than average.

Work on your profile making. Let it not be average and common.

Stay positive and work towards your goal. There are many other good colleges you can get into if not IIM's but your aim higher can make you reach the stars if not the moon.
But hope, work sincerely and you can make it.

Good Luck.

Nothing is impossible! And these are decent enough marks. But yes, nothing is guaranteed too. Let's make it simpler. Getting through CAT is a pre-requisite. If you wish to get into IIMA which happens to be a premier B-school of India, you must get 99+ percentile (general category, 95+ (NC-OBC),  85+(SC/ST). Your 10th and  12th percentages will play a role thereafter while sending you calls for WAT-PI process of IIMA and for the final selection when a cumulative scoring is done. Remember few points:
*High CAT percentile
*Good 10th and 12th scores
*Academic diversity
*Work experience
*Gender diversity (in certain cases)
These above mentioned parameters will decide whether you get a call for WAT-PI process.
Added to that
*WAT performance
*PI performance
*Past achievements in school,  college and work life
All these together will decide whether you finally find a position in the merit list of IIMA or not. And do not panic, even if you feel you score a little low in 10th and 12th, if you can perform well and have performed well in your past, you can get into IIMA.
Wish you all the best!!

Having a prior work experience is not an eligibility criteria for getting admission in IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore or any other IIM.

You can get admission as a fresher in any of these B Schools. You have to clear the interview process after your CAT Exam if you are shortlisted for the process based on your CAT score.

Having a prior Workex is an advantage during your shortlisting and final selection process.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a management entrance exam conducted which is the qualifying exam for getting into  IIM Ahmedabad.

A score of around 90 percentile should definitely invoke a call provided academics are good (above 85% throughout). A background in agriculture/allied sector would give a slight advantage over other candidates provided one meets other requirements and hence you can also get an interview call at a lower CAT percentile based on your profile.

The pattern of CAT is as follows: Quantitative Ability (QA) section will be having arithmetic problems. There will be 34 Questions in QA Section. DILR Section comprises of the calculation intensive portion including Graphs, charts , tables etc. This section will have total of 32 Questions. VRC section of CAT Exam includes RCs, Para Jumbled questions, grammar etc. This section will have total of 34 Questions.

After the CAT results are declared IIMs conduct further rounds of selection that includes WAT and Personal Interview. The scores of all these as well as your CAT score will decide your selection in an IIM.

IIM Ahmedabad has released the shortlist for WAT PI process of its PGP 2018-20 batch.
