It is very good thing to have plan B as a back-up plan so if you are seeking admission in BA in Sociology then it is recommended that you go with IGNOU as it is an university under the direct control of central government which and also it is very well known and trusted university, it is not the thing that UP Rajarshi Tandon Open University is somewhat bad but when we compare both of them then definitely IGNOU will win the comparison. First of all admission in IGNOU takes places twice a year for January Cycle the term end exam takes place in December while for July Cycle it takes place in June, this is for only annual courses, not for semester based courses which have exams after 6 months, now coming to your question you took admission in July session of last year for bachelor of arts(hons) in english, so you will need to appear for June Term End Exam of this year which is postponed till further notice, remember that prior to appearing for the exam, you'll also be required to submit your assignments, as it's mandatory criteria, and your status will remain incomplete in case you don't submit the assignments, stay updated at the official website at ignou.ac.in for latest updates regarding this.

Usually the study centre that a candidate chooses while registration is the same study centre where candidates are required to submit the assignments, and this was the also the preference of study centre for term end exam, now it's not clear from your query what really happened as in you applied for admission with one study centre and ignou didn't provided it to you, and it's providing the old study centre now while re-registration, or you couldn't get the old study centre as TEE exam, because that's a frequent case in IGNOU or it's something else, I would request you to kindly elaborate on this, or else seek out assistance in ignou grievance portal for the same.
