About Karunya University

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS), Coimbatore or Karunya University was started in the year 2004. The institute was started by Late Dr D.G.S.Dhinakaran, who aimed at starting a technical university which produced trained engineers with some professional leadership qualities. The institute was awarded an autonomous status and declared Deemed-to-be University in the year 1999. KITS, Coimbatore is accredited by NAAC. The institute is the first self-financing autonomous engineering college of the country. The university is AICTE approved. Karunya University is a Christian minority institution. Karunya University has UGC approval for the fields of Arts, Science and Agriculture. In the Engineering category of NIRF Ranking 2021, the college has secured 105th rank. The university was ranked 80 in NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020.

Initially having a capacity of 180 students, the Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore now houses nearly 7482 students and has a strength of around 397 faculty members. There are a total of 18 academic departments in the institution. The institute believes in rendering the vision of its founders. Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore is involved in carrying research and development for human problems in the streams of Food, Water, Energy and Healthcare. Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS), Coimbatore Scholarships are granted to the students seeking financial assistance and to the meritorious candidates. The scholarship reward will be granted only by fulfilling the necessary criteria as mentioned. College Infrastructure

Our college infrastructure is extremely good. The classroom are neat and well equiped with latest technology and the facilities are super good. Laboratories are having the latest technology and we are having wifi all over the campus and library is full of Air conditioned and it is good.

Good infrastructure and campus. All the facilities are available. Good hostel and canteen. Everything is clean and tidy. Lab facilities are top notch. Access to round the clock library. WiFi facilities in hostel.
