Both of these colleges are good and of the same standard but Manipal University is more expensive than Thapar University. Yes, the mentioned scenario is possible but not through the counselling now as no requests for change in allotted branch shall be entertained. There is a feature or system called Branch upgradation whose forms are released after the conclusion of first and second semesters respectively. The details and entire procedure regarding the same will be shared on your mail. You can fill the choices according to your preference and depending upon the number of seats available in a particular branch vs the number of applicants for that particular branch, a cut off cgpa is decided. Remember the number of migrants allowed is a specific percentage of total strength in that program.

The cutoffs for CSE and IT branches including artificial intelligence are quite high but can be achieved by hard work and dedication.
