Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli has a Placement Cell that aids in the smooth conduction of the placement drive conducted by companies visiting MSU. The Placement Cell guides the students in making career-related decisions by giving career counselling sessions to the students. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli keeps contact with the past and potential recruiters and the employers of the corporate field are invited by the cell to conduct campus placements. Students are also given internship opportunities in order to gain exposure to the corporate world and get an insight into the real corporate world. Proper training sessions are organised by the Placement Cell of MSU for the students to develop job-specific skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills, soft skills, etc which is highly demanded in every potential employee by the recruiters. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli trains the students to improve their communication skills and get a command over the global language which is English as good communication skills as students with good communication skills have an edge over the others. The placement process of MSU Tirunelveli includes registration for participating in the drive, shortlisting the candidates meeting pre-hiring demands stated by the companies, pre-placement talk which is a two-way communication where students get an insight about the company and can interact with the employers, written tests in order to judge the verbal ability, logical, aptitude, reasoning and technical knowledge. Further candidates who qualify the written test move to the next round that is the Group Discussion where they share their view and opinions collectively and voice their thoughts. Personal Interview is the final round and candidates qualifying the interview are offered jobs and hence fulfilling their dream of getting a job in the company they aspired for. The placement process of MSU is mentioned below:
STEP 1
Registration for placement: Candidates interested for participation in the placement drive are invited to register for participating in the recruitment drive.
STEP 2
Shortlisting of registered candidates: Based on the specific academic requirements as demanded by the recruiters which is known as pre-hiring demands such as minimum percentage, etc, candidates are shortlisted.
STEP 3
Pre Placement Talk: Companies visiting MSU for conducting placement drive deliver a pre-placement talk for the students so that they are well aware of the basic policies followed by the company. This two-way communication helps the students to clear all the queries.
STEP 4
Various Tests conducted by Recruiters: After the pre-placement talk in order to judge the Quantitative aptitude, Logical ability, English competency, Domain knowledge and Suitability towards specific skill-sets of the potential students, screening tests are taken and candidates qualifying the test further proceed with the placement process.
STEP 5
Group Discussion: Students clearing the screening test will further have to participate in Group Discussion which may be on any topic, it can be a social, political, business-related topic, etc. Candidates voicing their opinion and presenting their thoughts in front of the interviewers are selected in this round.
STEP 6
Interview: Candidates have to qualify the interview taken by the companies. Interviews namely Technical Interview, HR Interview, etc are some of the interviews taken in order to judge the overall personality of the potential candidate.
STEP 7
Making the Job Offer: Candidates who are successful in qualifying all the tests and interviews conducted by the recruiters, are offered jobs based on their calibre and potential and hence the selected students are successful in securing their future and getting their dream job.
