Hello Aspirant,
SASTRA has admission intake for UG courses in 3 primary categories.
Stream 1 (JEE Mains score(25%)+12th Grade score(75%)) - 70% seats
Stream 2 (12th Grade score) - 30% seats
Apart from this, there is another category,
3. NRI Category (12th Grade score)
You can apply for the NRI category even if you aren’t one. Many of the students here in SASTRA were not actually NRIs but have got their admission in this category. I guess you just need to have a blood relative of yours as an NRI. The fee structure for them, however, is pretty much double the fee of the first two categories’.
If you really want to join SASTRA, then you could even join for the best branch provided to you at the time of counseling and study well in the first 2 semesters and slide to the branch of your choice. You need to keep your CGPAs as high as possible for this(I would recommend an 8.5+ CGPA). It’s a merit-based (and vacancy based) sliding.
For stream 2, your board exam marks should be at least above 85-90% to get a seat and if it is more than 95% you can get a good course like CSE.
Hope this helps.
Hello Siva Krishna,
Admissions to the I year B.Tech., Programme will be based on the marks secured in the +2 qualifying examination following the normalization process. To bring all candidates from different examining Authorities / Boards in the same scale of comparison and to create a list in the order of merit, the +2 marks will be normalized. A first rank student of each board is considered to have obtained 100% mark and aggregate mark of all other students of the board are normalized with reference to that of the first rank student. For example, if the first rank is 97% and an applicant's aggregate is 90% then the applicant's normalized percentage is 92.78 (90/97 x 100). A merit list is drawn based on the normalized percentage for making admissions.
Admissions for students from the vocational stream to the respective B.Tech. programme will be done from within the same category of applicants.
Admissions to P.G. Programmes will be based on the overall percentage of marks secured in the qualifying UG/PG degree. Preference will be given to GATE score holders.
Thanku.
for btech ( for four years ) your fee structure, would be 5,20000 in total.
the hostel fees is 44k for both girls hostel and boys hostel.
the hostel fee also depends on the room sharing criteria ranging from four in one to two in one with attached bathroom and facilities.
it depends on the type of room you take.
Heyyyy Akshay Kumar.....
the admission in the sastra University will be available why are the following two streams :
Through stream 1:
Admissions to 70% of the seats will be made through stream 1 on the basis of JEE Main scores and normalized scores of the 10+2 or equivalent exam.
The 25% weightage will be given to JEE Main scores and the remaining 75% will be given to marks scored in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
The combined scores will be used to prepare the rank list and candidates will be invited for admission on the basis of the rank list.
Through stream 2:
The remaining 30% of the seats will be filled through stream 2
Only 10+2 (or equivalent) normalized scores will be considered while preparing the rank list of stream 2.
Candidates can apply through both the streams.

My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
laboratories for bio tech and other related departments are very good and high tech here. Hostels are non ac full vegetarian, managable. wifi is 24/7 available. the environment is good for studying here.
