College: Sastra is the place where you can explore many of your talents and is one of the finest colleges where you get good education and support. Faculty: The doors of the professors are always open for you to clear all your doubts regarding the subject and they also provide a proper guidance for your carrier. Hostel: The college also provides a second home, the hostel where you can feel secure. The college is strictly against the ragging of freshers and it makes you even more comfortable to stay with. Placement: It is one of the few universities in the globe which shows a successful placements rate every year and is on the growing state in the statistics. The college also provides extra space to show your talents and also helps to bridge your talents to a right place. You will definitely have one of the finest experiences while you leave.

My college provides me with an excellent infrastructure and also a very good hostel life. The overall environment(student relationship) is excellent. The interaction between students and faculties is good. The placement offers are very good.but a particular company takes a lot of students so the quality of the company becomes less and other students tend to get demotivated.Rather than a single company taking a lot of students ,it can be split into various companies.

Hate the college life here..this is the college with the highest level of restrictions...if you are studious the this is a good place for people like you...also if you are studious and also want to live some of your life apart form studies this is not a good college as you will have mostly three fests per semester of which two are really a waste of time...also you will not be allowed to go home more than twice in a semester...check out the rest of restrictions in quora..thank you

SASTRA UNIVERSITY

pros: Awesome benefits, flexible work environment, nice co-workers and incentives to learn. The opportunities that WGU has provided me over the years have allowed me to continue my education and allow me to grow not only as an employee but as a person. Cons: Some of the management seemed unorganized. Although the business goal was clear, communication between middle management and the workers seemed to be missing. This allowed some processes to not be followed correctly which ultimately results in confusion and uncertainty. Advice to Management Keep the objectives clear and make sure that everyone understands the overall goal for their team as well as their department. This will help increase employee awareness and confidence in what they are doing.Keep up the good work. Also, rethink some of the structure of the organization. Assessment is part of curriculum, they should not be separate. Create more face to face opportunities for distant staff to work together.

My first ever experience away from home

Sastra is one of the best universities in India. There are 8 academic blocks, one central library, and many laboratories. The library is a top notch with a large collection of books and there is also a digital library with a 3.5 Mbps. There are three canteens near each academic block region. However, non-vegetarian is not allowed inside the campus and the mess food is not great. The hostel students have to face the strictness in moving in and out of the campus as they will have to go to the Gate Pass Management System website and apply for a pass with valid reasons. The campus is full of trees and flowers and most of the times, you'll be seeing peacocks here and there. This college is famous for its 100% placement as the student is made ready for the interview. Companies visited in the last few years include Paypal, Amazon,TCS, Infosys, etc. The faculty is excellent. However, if the class is not that satisfied with the teacher, they can contact the class counselor and change the faculty. Infrastructure is good. But timings are not flexible to make use of labs for personnal purposes as everything is closed by 5:15 pm

An academy to fulfill your personality

SASTRA, is a place which enables you to become what you aspire in your life. The College has limited number of seats in each department which helps the Professors to concentrate more on each student. The Exams are purely based on testing the concepts which the students have learnt from the classroom lectures, rather than a usual theory paper. Apart from studies, the college offers various classes to enhance our skills like foreign language, dance, and sports. It is a perfect choice for a person who wishes to pursue Engineering in Tamil Nadu. Placements are very good.MNCs like Mcrosoft,Paypal,Amazon,Hundayi.. visit our campus.Max package varies between 22-28 lac per annum.Students undertake projects under professors. Most of people prefer SAP . Infrastructure is good but not the best.Problem is there is no flexible timing to have labs,library.. They have ethical and moral values and they were making the saplings of the values in the form of students

infrastructure is good but mainly lacks in in knowledge of professors. yes, i agree of the fact that some professors are very good but some are worst. placement package will range between 3.5-4 lakhs. hostel life will be good and enjoyable. only thing is food has to be improved. students will be lagging behind practical knowledge as their is no exposure to industry. overall, a college of destiny if u miss iits and nits.

SASTRA University offers the right blend of Control and freedom. Campus life is amazing. Avenues for culturals, sports, research etc are abundant. Semester Abroad Programme is a huge opportunity. Alumni network is huge. Perhaps the only negative point is that girls have hostel timing restrictions - around 6pm.

The best part is its infrastructure, with almost every facilities (except air conditioned hostels, classrooms etc). Teaching is essentially marks oriented. Knowledge is hardly imparted. This is one of the reasons why very few numbers of students get core companies. Hostel food is below average and unhygienic. Crowd is mostly composed of Telugu and Tamil speaking students. Cost of living is pretty decent. Its hard to find internships matching the less number of days students get for summer break.

*The college has good infrastructure, seperate buildings for perspective courses.Vast campus with Temple, separate hostels for boys and girls, clean environment with greeny plants all around the campus. Its bit hard to spend summer here. *They are not organising any industrial visits so thats the drawback here *Competitions held here every week is so fun and enjaoyable *I just entered 2nd year so no offers for us *They are good enough *Compared to nearby colleges its good in fee structure

Best university i have ever heard and proud to be

COURSE CURRICULUM -Electives were divided into sets every time. 4th sem onwards we were given a chance to choose electives based on our choice. One elective from one set number of sets per sem used to vary between 2-4 and we got a chance to finish the 4 subjects we have to finish in 8th semester to finish beforehand starting from 4th sem. It was called Open electives which gave us the chance to dedicate our entire 8th sem for project work. It needed us to score 75% every sem to make us eligible for the open elective course. INTERNSHIP -I did my final year project outside the college in DRDO. We were given a chance to do projects outside if we have finished all 4 courses previously in the form of open electives. People who did not finish also got the chance to do so but they have to come back before February to attend the classes and write exams from 2nd Mid sem onwards. However, my college doesn't offer any stipend for projects done outside. For internships, it depends on the company you choose.

Our class hours are hectic and we need more holidays. We have good placements like TCS We have social events like Daksh , Kuruksastra. Daksh is a technical fest and Kuruksastra is a cultural fest where we invite famous singers and bands to perform. As students, we participate in organising these events and thus gain a lot of experience and new friends College hostels could be better with their food. Some hostels have only one plug point per room and there are power shutdowns now and then which are very unwelcome especially due to the sweltering heat. We are not allowed to go home very often and the days given are not sufficient for those who have to travel long distances.

SASTRA University has an excellent infrastructure and a peaceful atmosphere to study. It's the best college in this Tanjore locality and has the best student crowd. Students from many states come here to study. Hostel facility here is ok. Food at canteens are good. Placements is good. Many companies like microsoft, TCS, Zoho and Bosch come here for recruitment.

SASTRA University is situated away from the city making the students inaccessible for city exposure. I think it is best for people around Thanjavur as the hostel facilities are also not so good. When it comes to infrastructure, SASTRA is incomparable. But the faculties and placements are not as expected.

According to me, SASTRA is the best college for students who aspire to do research and not for others. Though the fees structure is affordable, industrial exposure is very poor and the hostel food is not good. Student crowd is good and infrastructure is excellent here. Placement is not very good. So if you want to do research or study Bio related degrees then I'll recommend you to join SASTRA.

SASTRA University, when compared to other colleges, has the unmatched infrastructure and a good hostel atmosphere but it lags back at the industrial exposure given to the students and the faculties are also not satisfactory. Many companies come here for placements and TCS is the maximum recruiter.Students from various states come to study here so you can get good contacts. When compared to other colleges fees here is quite affordable. Overall SASTRA University is a good place to study.

From my college experience, I hope to gain many things. Obviously, college is a time that students can truly become individuals. When I attend the college I will have the opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college, I will be on y own and will have to push myself harder. SASTRA is well known for its placement,I received quit a good number of banks and companies since my dean was in charge of placement for the whole university he made sure tat each and every one of the eligible student is placed. Hostel facilities are good. I don't think Sastra is affordable! till now I don't know why did I pay the breakage due every year

My alma mater is located in the middle of nowhere. There are a variety of Courses. The place holds high moral standards and expects students to follow them. It builds a good personality and holds up a great educational system. Although remotely located, SASTRA University, has a touch of modern ism in its infrastructure. I just wish the standard of food in the hostel mess was better.

The university has a good environment. But the Department of Electrical and Electronic engineering does not have a well-arranged classroom plan. Our university has an excellent library with an entire floor dedicated to law. We have a lot of internship opportunities and our department makes internship mandatory every semester leave. We are exposed regularly to various intellectual discussions and have hosted many renowned lawyers, judges and academicians. We never had a freshers party , it would be nice to have had one. There is no forum for interaction between the students of different years.Any interaction occurs on our accord and no interactive sessions or meets have been organised on the part of the university, thus students in their first year do not get much of a chance to know their seniors. The companies that come to the university for placements for law do not offer good salary packages forcing us to look elsewhere for job opportunities. It would be nice to be provided more freedom and the system of dormitories is a trespass on our privacy and enjoyment. Few rooms require more ventilation. The work done by the cleaning and maintenance is prompt and efficient. The faculty in our department are experienced but some lack a gift of teaching. Moreover, with six hours of classes everyday renders their efforts to hold the class' attention futile. Our university does not receive donations and thus is not discriminatory, the hostel accommodation and tuition fees are very reasonable and adequate compensation is given to students who are less economically privileged.

My favourite building in the college is the library. We have a plethora of books both academic and recreational. We can also access magazines and journals. .I like to visit the Higginbothams in our college and browse through the latest arrivals. The university invites many industrial and technical experts to deliver seminars and lectures . They included Michel Danino and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. But the university's examination system and methods of lecturing are not to my satisfaction. It takes almost a day for me to go home from here and as we are given very less time for vacation. TCS, Infosys, and WIPRO regularly recruit students from our university. We have a lot of paperwork and unnecessary hassle to go home, leave campus . The curfew for the girl's hostel at six in the evening is also a strict rule.

The best buildings in our university are the library and our department "Chanakya". Our department has a dome-shaped structure. An interesting feature about our university is that the roads are named after scientists. Our department doesn't take us for court visits and we had scheduled Supreme court visits which got cancelled. The faculties are very knowledgeable and friendly and easier to approach in the case of any help. We don't have proper placements and also most of the students don't prefer sitting for placements because they are interested in practising. We have four canteens in our university Krishna canteen, Canopy, Chota canteen and Kaapikudil. We have most of the Indian food varieties and it the cost is also affordable. Our university conducts blood donation camps frequently. We have an Higginbothaams stores which provides us with all kinds of books, gits, etc. We have a Vinayagar temple which I visit daily and that is my favourite spot on our campus. Flipkart, amazon and other online shopping websites deliver the products to our campus.

Our football turf is definitely well maintained. With sprinkler systems, it always appears lush and green which is remarkable considering that our university is located in a city which is known for extreme heat and dry conditions. Our library is a treasure trove. As an avid reader, I found to immense delight that the library has the best and most diverse collection and I couldn't ask for a better one. Our university conducts Knowledge Leadership Forum lectures which invite people from different walks of life to share their experiences. We also have an Entrepreneurship and Development cell through which the university funds startups of students. Our university is strict when it comes to security. Most of the hostel students feel the curfew is a dampener, our working hours stretch to about six hours a day. Over the years the engineering students have received placements from offers from many companies ,the major recruiter being TCS. However, most students of law do not make use of the placement cell and prefer to practice in courts or study abroad. The food in our hostels is affordable but is not always up to expectations. The rules and regulations often turn out to include lengthy procedures and paperwork when it comes to taking permission to go home. But over the years the management has made a few concessions regarding the same. Most of the professors of the university are well qualified in their academic background but a few of them still resort to enforcing learning by rote and discourage creativity. The university has students from the other states of South India notably Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They all from associations and conduct various programmes which add to our cultural experience. The fees for the professional courses and the hostel is very reasonable. My expenses for the five years would probably be only 10 lakhs which are further reduced for economically challenged students and through the availing of University scholarships. Students also receive a reprieve on the demise of their family 's breadwinner or for any major accidents.

Education being one the molding phase in the lives of a young mind must be given importance and must also choose carefully. SASTRA university provides such a platform where the young minds of equal caliber meet.It is said that great minds discuss ideas and this university provides an exceptional opportunity to meet fellow students but also many legal luminaries through the knowledge leadership forum lecture organized by the university. the university has also extensive resources; both through online journals and library. A teacher plays a pivotal role in shaping the student's life. the professors at SASTRA are very friendly and approachable, who extend a helping hand to the student at any time.
