The seats in SRM are Bachelor of technology in civil engineering - 120 seats . Bachelor of technology in electrical and electronics engineering - 120 seats . Bachelor of technology in information technology- 120 seats . Bachelor of technology in mechanical engineering - 60 seats .

The Oxford College of Science is a good institute for certain courses. B.Sc Biotechnology is good in this college. In general the faculty is very good and helpful ,and good quality education is provided. The campus has got a fine infrastructure with all necessary facilities for the students.The placement is above average though. It depends on your GPA , so if you study well you can easily get placed. Lab facilites,research or project assistance  and other learning exposures are good. They arrange many seminars and workshops for the benefit of the students. SRM,on the other hand is also a good college with the best infrastructure ,good faculty and lot of student facilities.But the labs are technology are not that advanced so you cannot expect too much but it is good enough. Placements are better comparatively,but again can't expect too much. Most of the students were placed but only few were offered core jobs ,so you may have IT job offers too. FundaIndia, Teach For India, Hexagon, etc are some placements that took place previously. So both are almost the same but placements wise SRM might be slightly better , however you can do further research about the placements according to your expectations and make a final decision.

Both the colleges are good but SRM University is quite good in terms of infrastructure,faculties and placements.The placement cell is quite strong here and also by renowned companies.The college provides all basic qualities like wifi,classrooms,labs etc with beautiful surroundings for quality education.

Oxford college is better in terms of infrastructure and faculty members.The college has spacious classrooms,labs,wifi and also a good building.The teachers are much helpful and seniors.They are strict and mantains a disciplinary act through out.They are highly educated.Moreover the placement cell of the college is quite strong.

Yes it is possible to get free seat in SRM university. But you must be in the top top ranks for srmjee. And also your family income must less than Rs. 1lakh per annum. Also they will give seat by their pudhiya thalaimurai trust they even gave free hostel accomodation.

So, if you are eligible for the free seat and fulfill the criteria for a free seat, then yes you can definitely get a free seat in SRM university.

You can change your caste from obc to general .As you have already submitted your application you can contact srm regarding this. They haven't yet opened the correction window and the date is not mentioned when the correction will start.

You need not worry as you will be able to edit your application form.

As you have mentioned that you comes under BC-B but it is state level reservation and SRM JEE and KLEEE is University level entrance examination so to get reservation your category should lie under central list of reservation available at ( http://www.ncbc.nic.in/User_Panel/CentralListStateView.aspx ) but as you have mentioned that you does not lie under OBC-NCL category then you have to apply under General category because for OBC-Creamy Layer there is no reservation and they are treated as General category candidates.
