Both colleges SRM and THAPAR are good academic wise. But Placement wise Thapar is good as it has great placement record for ECE. Considering fees then Thapar University has lower fees than SRM. So if you have interest in ECE go to THAPAR

SRM program is not AICTE approved. Is B.Tech degree is valid from SRM.

It is correct that SRM is not AICTE approved. But it is UGC approved so a university needs either UGC or AICTE approval. Therefore B. Tech from SRM is valid.

Software Engineering is a unique course at SRM and is quite good. The average salary for SRM is around 4LPA with a few students getting in excess of 7-8 LPA.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure for the college is really good, we had separate buildings for each of the branches , and great laboratories for hands on experience. The university also offers grounds and sports arenas for extracurricular activities.

Large-scale university with outdated tech and curriculum.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is a mix of scale and maintenance issues. While the campus is vast, the labs often have outdated hardware that struggles with resource-heavy AI/ML workloads. Classroom facilities like Wi-Fi are inconsistent, which is frustrating for a CS student. The sports facilities exist but are often overcrowded. While the campus looks good on paper, the day-to-day utility of the labs and the hygiene of common living spaces need significant improvement to match the "premier" branding.

College Infrastructure
