Hey, the timings of SRM University, Chennai classes:

The college open 5 days a week i.e. from Monday to Friday at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday holidays.

Library Office timings: Monday to Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm , lunch bteak 1:15 pm- 1:45 pm , Sunday Holiday.

hope you are doing well and safe. With reference to your query,  I would glad inform you that SRM classes 2021 will commence in the mid of september most probably . Since the covid situation is still going on india , so classes will most probably be online for this semester . However , vaacination is going on large scale , if third wave will not come and cases will under control then colleges will be open very soon .

SRM is a good college. As you are in dilemma which branch you choose. I would say you can choose any of the mentioned branch. Usually the specialisation branches like CSE with AI and ML had same syllabus like CSE Core except for few subjects. During placement times, most of the companies treat these branches, same as CSE Core. So,You  should take those branch in which you have  interest.

The EEE department is fairly good. But, the Electronics and computer science is the new department under the faculty of electrical engineering. The teachers are not even familiar with it's syllabus very well. And what's more? In most of the cases, teachers of electrical engineering are going to take your computer science subjects as well!!

Some inside news for you, the HOD of EEE department was forced by the college administration to increase the number of seats in the E&Cs department, despite the concerns raised by him, regarding the substrandard skill of teachers in teaching computer science subjects. I

Infact, there's a shortage of professors in the EEE department itself! How are they going to provide decently qualified faculties for E&Cs?

Also, you are going to be the second batch of E&Cs. So, if you want placements, then your senior batch must get to its recruitment phase i.e. Final year, so that one can see the trend of placements. Their future is uncertain as of now. Since, no one can determine whether the companies would prefer a E&Cs candidate, but i am sure that the college placement cell will do its best, but still there's no guarantee.

SRM University (Kattankulathur) is a well recognized institute. While it is known for Engineering mostly, BCA / MCA  courses here are also very good. All the MCA students are given more or less equal opportunities along with engineering aspirants during placements.

However, one thing to note here is, not all companies hire MCA candidates. Many a times companies tend to prefer engineering candidates over BCA-MCA ones.

SRM is a good option for pursuing psychology. Bsc psychology is a three year undergraduate degree program which will help people to develop the skills required. This degree can also be extended into a four year diploma or certificate course if students want to pursue their higher studies abroad.

The course will also include a minor specialization in Applied Psychology/ Clinical Psychology.

The infrastructure is also good and equipped with modern facilities. The faculty is well experienced and friendly. Most of the faculties are doctorates.

The placement is good. Almost 99% of the students are placed in different IT companies such as Amazon, Sabre, Walmart, etc.

see cutoff score varies every year and it depends on certain factors like number of applicant,  questions difficulty level, seat matrix etc.

however it is expected that the overall closing rank for computer science departments including all specialized course would go around 10000. however in KTR campus total intake for cse is 1140, so it now depends on the leftover seats after 2nd phase counselling. however it seems tough chances for cse. but you have decent scope for other specialization like software engineering, block chain technology, cyber security etc.
