See this is a very hard comparison. Both of this universities are infrastructurally very good, they have wide curriculum, they have good placements and faculties. So its like comparing your right hand is better or your left hand. I know this confusion arises as IIT Goa is a new IIT and people think real IIT's are the old ones. But let me assure you, you will not have any less facilities in a new IIT also. Except its records there are nothing less about it. Now as you to be a professor at IIT, one need to be a post doc and they need to be very good at there respective fields. So the teachers will be great, the curriculum will be great. The placements will also be good as you see they are IIT's and companies will visit them no matter what. So don't worry about it, if you get a chance at IIT GOA just go for it.

Now SRM is also a good institution but if you get chance in any of IIT GOA or NIT GOA then going to SRM avoiding this two institutions will be just like childish as well as illogical. IIT GOA have everything as SRM but SRM didn't have all the things that IIT GOA have.

The most efficient prioritization are:

  1. IIT GOA
  2. NIT GOA
  3. SRM KATTANKULATHUR

Hey Aditya,

Your question is not complete, i.e. you have not really mentioned based on what criteria you want these colleges to be sorted.

Nevertheless, going from a generic perspective i.e. quality of education, state of art lab, campus life and most importantly placements, I would give you some insights.

Now, the most important thing here should be your passion i.e. choose the branch that really inspires you because sooner or later you'll become bored taking a discipline that you don't like.

However, if you do not have any choice of branch and placement is your priority, then go for CSE.

Comparing the colleges you have shortlisted, SRM Chennai (Ramapuram / Vadapalini as you said not KTR) seems to be the best choice. However, in this case your campus life will be greatly compromised because unlike the KTR campus, Ramapuram and Vadapalini are not that good.

And if college status matters to you more then go for VIT Vellore (any day) and also the campus life there is pretty good (best amongst the ones mentioned in your list).

Keep your priorities straight and choose wisely.

Hope it helped.

Dear candidate, at 70 percentile your rank will be around 306900-345000. You can’t get any NIT/IIIT/GFTI at this percentile. You are not eligible for JEE Advanced too as its cutoff is around 89 percentile. You should look for private colleges or state engineering colleges.

Hi Aspirant,

With a rank of 25250 in SRMJEEE , it is difficult to get admission in CSE at SRM Chennai(Main Campus) because for CSE the closing rank is expected to be around 9k-10k by analyzing the previous year cutoff ranks. However you can get any other branch with this rank at SRM Chennai(Main Campus). Also you can get CSE in any other branch of SRM either it be SRM Ramapuram, SRM Vadapalani, SRM Ghaziabad or SRM Sonipat.

Both the branches are very good. They have their own importance. you can choose  based on your interest. But if you are doing mech with spl in AI and ML then it is well and good. As in future Both AL and ML have more scope.
