24 MonthsMaster of Technology (M.Tech) in Urban Planning is a two-year (4 semesters) full-time postgraduate program offered by the Department of Architecture at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate to be eligible for the M.Tech program:
- Must have a valid GATE Score.
- In qualifying degree, the candidates should have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10- point scale) or 60% for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC, whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates. The above-mentioned CGPA/Percentage should be awarded by a recognized University/Institute.
- Only the primary mode of evaluation (CGPA or percentage) as mentioned in the qualifying degree certificate/mark sheet shall be considered while verifying eligibility.
Admission Details
Admission of GATE qualified candidates is conducted through centralized admission process by Central Counseling for M Tech (CCMT) constituted by Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD. Reservation of Seats is as per Govt. of India rules.

Solid NIT choice for urban planning studies.

The campus at VNIT Nagpur is big and have good buildings. Labs for urban planning is equipped with modern tools from foreign too. Hostel are clean but no wi-fi everywhere which is bit annoying. Library is huge with lots books on planning. its nice place to study but some areas need update.
