Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kottayam is an autonomous college founded in 2001 in Kanjirappally, Kottayam District of Kerala. Situated in a sixtieth acre land, AJCE is accredited by NAAC and NBA and recognized by AICT Из٬ College presently has 38 programmes across 4 levels and includes 3,146 students and 252 faculty members. The distribution of male and female students in AJCE is reasonable; the male students take 66% of undergraduates, and the remaining 34% are female students, while 38% of postgraduate students are male, and 62% are female. It’s a residential institute that has specialisations in engineering fields such as computer science, electronics and mechanical engineering.

These include facilities, which include a set of state of the art facilities for the use of AJCE students. The campus also has well equipped laboratories, a well stocked library and state-of-art I.T facility with 610 Mbps Wi-Fi facility. Students enjoy superb hostels, Santhom for the male students and Amala for the female students both directed by Roman Catholic Priest and Nuns. Some of the facilities of the college include a health centre, a gym, sports facilities, eating place in form of a cafeteria, and an auditorium for occasions and seminars. A convenience store and guest rooms are provided to support extra student and visitor services.

Here, there is a list of academic programmes: 12 B.Tech, 10 M.Tech, MCA, MCA Integrated, and various doctoral programmes. The total no of sanctioned intake for the undergraduate engineering courses is 780 and for Computer Science and Engineering it is 180. Graduate programmes such as M.Tech are limited in their ISE for Intake mostly coming in between 9-24 for different specialisations. The MCA programme has got a large absorption capacity of 120 seats.

For, B.Tech programmes, the candidates must pass the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination (KEAM) which is conducted by the commissioner of entrance examinations, Government of Kerala. 

The candidates are required to secure a minimum of 10 marks each in Paper I and Paper II of KEAM examinations and those candidates who figured in KEAM Rank List. M.Tech programmes generally have limitation that the admission is only open for the candidates with valid GATE scores for this, sponsored candidates may be exempted. In case of remaining vacant, these posts may be filled by the candidates without having the GATE scores. LBS conducts the Kerala MCA Entrance Examination through which 50% of the students in MCA programme are admitted.
