Bhavan's Leelavati Munshi College of Education, New Delhi Admission Process

Among the reputed colleges in New Delhi, Bhavan's Leelavati Munshi College of Education offers professional education courses like B.Ed and D.El.Ed. It follows a structured admission procedure to offer the employed professionals program using careful selection among candidates for pursuing either the Bachelor of Education degree(B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed).

Admissions into the B.Ed program are done via the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) as a specific option to give a fair and competitive selection process. Admission is granted to the candidates based on their merit order at IPU CET which is the only entrance examination accepted by the college.

The admission policy for the D.El.Ed program is slightly different from that of the B.Ed program, following the guidelines provided by the respective state government or that of UT administration. This program is usually merit-based based either on the marks secured in the qualifying examination or on an entrance test, or a combination of both.

Application Process

Application to Bhavan's Leelavati Munshi College of Education depends on the program:

For B.Ed Program:

1. Candidates are required to appear for the IPU CET conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

2. Following this, candidates need to check the results and rank in the IPU CET.

3. Accordingly, qualified candidates can apply to Bhavan's Leelavati Munshi College of Education through the counseling process carried out by GGSIPU.

4. The allotment of seats would be done based on the rank secured by the candidate in the IPU CET.

5. This will be followed by completing the admission process at the college including document verification and fee payment.

For D.El.Ed Program:

1. Candidates would check the college website or call the admission office about the notification for the admissions for the current year.

2. Direct application to college or the designated admission authority as per policy of state government or UT administration.

3. Submission of all the necessary documents, like academic records and others as mentioned in the admission notification.

4. In case of an entrance test in the admission process, the candidates should appear for the test as scheduled.

5. Merit list will be drawn as per qualifying examination marks and/or entrance test scores.

6. Selected candidates will be called for document verification and confirmation of admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education):

The B.Ed at Bhavan's Leelavati Munshi College of Education is a two-year full-time course designed to train students to teach at the secondary and senior secondary levels. Admission to this program is purely based on the performance of the student in the IPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test). Allocated seats of aspiring candidates are based on the ranks they get in this entrance test. This entrance test is conducted by GGSIPU as the paramount criterion for taking admission into the B.Ed program.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education):

D.El.Ed is another two-year program that prepares candidates to teach at the primary level. This program follows an entirely different admission process from B.Ed. Admission to this program is thus merit-based according to the state government or UT administration policy as stated by the college. Merit here includes the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in an entrance examination. The college may also adopt any other selection procedure put forth by the policy of the state government or UT administration. This flexible approach gives room for other valid candidates to be qualified and accepted into the program

General Documents Required for Both Programs:

  • The 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates will be required
  • Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate (only for B.Ed applicants)
  • Valid ID proof
  • Address proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport size photographs
