Ph.D Microbiology at Dr NGP Arts and Science College, Coimbatore Offline Course

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an offered Full-time three/six-year Doctoral program and it is offered by the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.

The Department of Microbiology was established in the year 2003 with the postgraduate program and in 2004 with the undergraduate course. The research program comprises M.Phil and Ph.D which was started in the year 2005 and 2007 respectively. The department has a strong link with the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital and other institutions of the trust where there are a number of ongoing research projects. The department is armed with well qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members. The department is committed towards the healthy academic (curriculum and co-curriculum) growth of the students as well as fostering the teaching and research activities of the faculty. The Department engages in various Projects supported by DBT, ICMR, UGC, DST, DRDO, CSIR, and TNSCST.
