EP Odum School of Environmental Sciences, Silchar, is a part of Assam University. It is focused towards environmental education and research, offering numerous specialized programs at the post masters and doctoral levels approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).

In EP Odum School of Environmental Sciences interactive courses are designed to admit creative and dedicated students who express passion for the environment in the admission process. There are four full-time courses offered in the school, aimed at aspiring environmental professionals whose entry qualifications differ with those of the other programs. These include a two-year M.Sc. in Environmental Science; a one- year M.Phil. in Environmental Science; a six-year Ph.D. in Environmental Science; and a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM).

Ph.D. Environmental Science: The duration of this doctoral program is six years and the aim is to develop high-quality research in the field of environmental science. Candidates who have completed their postgraduate studies in Environmental Science or affiliated subjects can apply. Normally, the admission procedure is done through an entrance test and/or interview which emphasizes the proposed research work and educational background of the candidate.

PGDTM: Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management covers a period of one year blending environmental studies with tourism management. Graduates from various disciplines may be eligible to apply too. The admissions process may include merit as well as the inclusion of an aptitude test or interview.
