GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), Rajam was established by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation in the year 1997. The GMR Institute of Technology has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. GMR Institute of Technology Rajam has been accredited by the NAAC with an A grade. GMR Institute of Technology is affiliated with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK).
The GMRIT Rajam offers courses to the students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is offered at the UG level and Master of Technology (M.Tech) at the PG level. GMRIT Ranjam offers admission to the B.Tech courses based on the AP EAMCET scores. Whereas for GMRIT Ranjam admissions to the M.Tech programme the relevant GATE scores are required. Candidates who meet the desired cutoffs of the college will be eligible for admission. The GMR Institute of Technology has a placement cell that prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously creates awareness among companies about recruitment opportunities.
