Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, established in the year 1999, is situated on the scenic hills of Barton Hill. GEC Barton Hill is affiliated with the University of Kerala for the final year B.Tech batch and APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University for all other batches. The Director of Technical Education (DTE) for the Government of Kerala oversees the administrative operations of the college. Totalling 18 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and certificate levels, GEC courses contain Diploma, B.Tech and M.Tech programmes. Admission to the diploma course is through an entrance test and interview whereas GEC B.Tech admissions are based solely on the rank secured in KEAM conducted by the Government of Kerala. For GEC M.Tech admissions, the merit list is prepared on the basis of GATE.
The career guidance and placement unit (CGPU) has enhanced the skills of engineering graduates and provided multiple job opportunities. GEC campus provides a wide range of facilities and infrastructure to its students.

GEC Barton Hill have all the necessary infrastructure and facilities and are well maintained. You have access to college library, canteen, labs, ladies amnety centre, wifi. Good hygienic food from canteen
Our college provides all the basic infrastructure and they are well maintained. Hostels arw student friendly with wifi connections. There is a sports Centre and a resourceful library. The living spaces are clean. The college canteen provides very affordable and hygienic food.
The college is a very a small college with an area of just 5.5 acres. Hence the space is just enough for all the classrooms and Labs. The labs for ECE and IT is very good and well equipped. But the labs for electrical and mechanical is under construction and would be make proper in one year. Due to space limitation, hostel inside the campus is available only for girls. The whole college is well equipped with WiFi service and is accessible from everywhere. The sports facilities are almost zero.

Since you cant avail reservation you are at disadvantage. The previous cutoffs for all major branches range between 2000 and 7000 for the general category.
