Kalyani Mahavidyalaya, Nadia Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a health center to render primary medical services to the students, and teaching and non-teaching staff in case of any medical urgency. The health center is kept open on weekdays from 10 AM to 5 PM when college is in session. We are also trying to organize a doctor’s visit from the nearby JNM state hospital once/twice a week.

The college library is the nerve center of any educational institution. It is a source of learning for higher education and the expansion of knowledge. It is an essential prerequisite for the successful implementation of quality higher education programs in the college. Kalyani Mahavidyalaya Library (KML) was set up in the year 2002. It is situated on the second floor of the college wing. At present, it occupies about 2500 sq. ft. area and can accommodate about 100 students at a time. The library initially began with just 1000 books growing rapidly to a collection of 16000 plus at present. The library of Kalyani Mahavidyalaya aims to support the teaching-learning activity in the college and to ensure the optimum utilization of the available resources.  

The college owns a picturesque sports ground with natural grass with an area of 1200 sq mt. fully surrounded by protective fencing. The ground can facilitate the preliminary level of athletic events. Moreover, the ground can host a range of games and sports including football, cricket, volleyball, etc.

The Department of Physical Education possesses and maintains a wide range of sports equipment like football, cricket kit, hockey sticks, etc. Among indoor game facilities, the college possesses a Table Tennis Board, a Carrom board, etc.

The college has two fully air-conditioned computer laboratories equipped with computers and software. In the first lab which is mainly used by the computer science department and there are about 53 computers to run the latest multimedia and programming software.

The College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College. The canteen provides refreshments to students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff. 

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college nurtures seven departments (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Computer Science, Geography) that require laboratory facilities.  The college has a part of fire safety, all laboratories are inspected and accredited by the Government Fire Brigade for fire safety. Working and well-maintained fire extinguishers are installed in every laboratory. A regular fire safety drill and training are done by the local fire brigade. We maintain the biosafety standards in all biology laboratories.  

The college has Wi-Fi enabled for ‘anytime anywhere’ access with a high-speed internet connection to allow the students to access the internet wherever they are. Each student is allowed a maximum of 25 Mb of data after a one-time login. The college has internet connectivity in the staff room and office with a 5 Mbps dial-up connection from Kalyani Cable Service (PMPL).

The college has a classroom facility for the students.

The college has conducting workshops for the students. 

The College has provided Training and Placement cell to the students.
