Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc Programs: Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College has a number of B.Sc programs available for the candidates in Geography (Honours), Economics, Psychology, Food and Nutrition, Zoology, Botany, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Microbiology, Computer Science, and Electronics. Admission to the above programs shall be on a strict merit basis judged primarily upon the marks obtained by the candidate in the 10+2 examination of the relevant subjects.

B.A. Programs: The College offers B.A. Honours programs in Philosophy, Education, English, Hindi, Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Sociology, History, and Bengali. The admission process followed here is merit-based, relying mainly on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.

B.Com and BBA Programs: Marks obtained in the 10+2 examination, particularly in subjects pertaining to commerce and business studies, are considered for admission into B.Com (Honours and General) and BBA programs.

M.Sc. Programs: The M.Sc programs offered by the college are Computer Science, Microbiology, Geography, and Food and Nutrition, with each offering 39 seats and fees ranging between Rs. 48,000 and Rs. 54,000. Merit is determined by their previous degree across areas relevant to their respective Master's programs and may include an entrance test/interview.

M.Com Programs: There are two M.Com Programs: Accounts Finance and Control and Marketing Management, both of which have an intake capacity of 40 seats each, while the fees structured is Rs. 15,600. Admission to these programs is based on the merit of the candidate obtained in B.Com or equivalent degree.

MA Program: The college offers an MA program in Education for 50 students and a fee structure of Rs. 22,020. Admission depends on merit obtained in the candidates' relevant bachelor's degree.
