Encouragement in Research

Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
KJ Somaiya College of Engineering is best known for the sports activities and also it is one of the disciple colleges of the Mumbai. In our college there is less Innovation and research due to improper faculties and infrastructure. Our college publish its weekly magazine where its motto is to bring out the hidden talents and their ideas that is sharing of knowledge and this leads to the sharpening our skills. But this is not enough, more exposure to the industrial sector, Attending conference and workshops and many more things leads to gain experience and also sharpen their skills at the faster rate. Other than that there are so many sports activities organized in our college and also they brought laurels and achievements in our college. Formula SAE is the famous racing competition where our colleagues design and make the formula racing car and participate in this competition. Moreover we all are also the part of the SKREAM. There is famous cultural activity that is Symphony is the inter-collegiate cultural festival of KJSCE. Those friends who love and their passion are in sports then they must join this college.

The Somaiya campus is spread across 77 acres. The faculty experienced and supportive. It has well-equipped labs and great supporting staff. It has now become autonomous and has more control over academics. The college has a huge campus.the food available at canteen is also reasonable. Library has a huge collection of books. It has a maggi house which provides panini...and there are cultural events held by Somaiya.it has various international committees.

Its located in the heart of the city, providing the best infrastructure from more than a few decades now. Its most reputed and respected college in the town provides best in class faculty, labs, and infra. Being a student of KJSCE is one of the best phases of my life. I started my career with first company TCS, thanks to college placement cell who makes sure everyone gets onboard. Lots of cultural and sports activities going around throughout the year. Its definitely one of the best college in the country.

Funfilling experience at Somaiya

Karthik

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
My experience at my BE was really awesome since I was in one of the best colleges. It provided the best infrastructures a student would ever want.It provided the required amenities like the projector in the class to display presentations and notes through computers,WiFi,Ethernet cables ,A library which had books as well as e-books that we could access from our home. The best part of it was that they provided all kinds of extracurricular activities like sports, tech fest, festivals etc which made our life fun filling. They provided a lot of placements.Companies like L&T, Delloite,Zycus,Accenture,Infosys etc visited our college and recruited a lot of students from the Campus .Only the thing, I personally feel the college should improvise upon is the exposure to the industry.Thers should be more industrial visits to more companies like Microsoft, Intel,Siemens etc.I received placement offers but I did not go for it because i wanted to pursue my masters.I was never a hostelite so cant say anything much about it.Each professor was exceptional. The student crowd was huge.
