MET Institute of Pharmacy, Mumbai Admission Process

MET Institute of Pharmacy (MET IOP), Mumbai, is one of the best pharmacy institutions conducting a variety of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The selection process here is tedious and very stringent for picking the students with great potential. It is also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

MET Institute of Pharmacy typically takes an academic year cycle and, hence, MET Institute of Pharmacy admission usually begins in August and September. The primary route of admission to B.Pharma will be based on the MHT CET  scores. MHT CET for the PCB group will be held on April 8, 2025. It will be an online examination.

Eligibility criteria differ with the programme. For B.Pharm, one needs to pass 10+2 with compulsory subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics. Applicants must obtain non-zero marks in the MHT CET conducted by the Competent Authority to seek MET Institute of Pharmacy.

The institute accommodates 108 intake students under its various programmes by maintaining a 23-faculty comfortable ratio of student-teacher ratio, which ensures individual attention along with quality education to all its enrolled students.

MET Institute of Pharmacy Application Process

The application process for MET Institute of Pharmacy, Mumbai, differs according to the course:

For B.Pharm:

  • Get registered and appear for the MHT CET exam.
  • Score non-zero marks in all subjects of the CET.
  • Apply through the centralised admission process conducted by the competent authority of Maharashtra.
  • Wait for the merit list based on MHT CET scores.
  • Participate in the counselling process if shortlisted.".
  • Document verification and payment of fees are done after allotment of the seat.

D.Pharma:

  • The admission procedure is centralised and the same as for B.Pharma.
  • The counselling will be state level, and a seat will be allotted for the candidate.

M.Pharma:

  • Check the MET IOP website, as the entrance examination is different for all the programmes
  • Get registered for that entrance exam- GPAT or any state-level PG entrance exam
  • Submit the form for M.Pharma programmes offered at MET IOP.
  • Shortlisted candidates can participate in counselling or interviews as well.

For Pharm.D:

  • All admissions to the Pharm.D course would be in line with MET IOP.
  • Filing of the application form and attached documents
  • If so specified by the institute, candidates are required to take part in other selection procedures.

MET Institute of Pharmacy Pharma Wise Admission Process

MET Institute of Pharmacy offers admissions for D. Pharma and B. Pharma programmes based on merit, entrance exam scores, and university guidelines.

MET Institute of Pharmacy B.Pharm Admission Process

B.Pharma has 100 seats at MET IOP. The admission procedure is done as per the marks scored by a candidate in the MHT CET exam. This admission procedure is centralised and administered by the authority of the competent state of Maharashtra.

MET Institute of Pharmacy D.Pharma Admission Process

MET IOP has a D.Pharma with an intake capacity of 60 seats. D.Pharma also follows a centralised admission process. Students should enrol in state-level admission to get admitted.

  • M.Pharma: The institute offers four specialisations in M.Pharma:
  • M.Pharma Pharmaceutics (18 seats)
  • M.Pharma Quality Assurance and Techniques (18 seats)
  • M.Pharma Pharmacology (6 seats)
  • M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Chemistry (6 seats)

Admission to these programmes is probably done on the basis of an entrance exam specific to the concerned programme, details for which aren't given.

MET Institute of Pharmacy Pharm.D Admission Process

MET IOP offers a 6-year Pharm.D course with 30 seats. The course is available for students looking to advance their pharmaceutical education. Admission might be by an entrance test or on MHT CET merit.

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • MHT CET score card for B.Pharma
  • Score card for the relevant entrance examination, if post-graduate
