Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Burdwan Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a hostel for female candidates inside the campus (very clean, a nice environment at the riverside adjoining the Institute) with a nominal and subsidised price. Students are supplied with sufficient water and 24-hour electricity (generator occasionally). Students may avail themselves of emergency health care and clinical facilities at a very nominal price from the doctors and trained health personnel of the adjoining VIH hospital, which is sophisticated and ultramodern.

The college has a clinic and hospital, Vidyasagar Institute of Health Hospital (Paramedical Hospital), Rangamati, Midnapore, which is well equipped with modern Instrumental facilities. Special kidney treatment (Dialysis), ICU, and cardiac care facilities with clinics, pathology, and an indoor pharmacy.

OSIT Bhurdwan has a well-equipped modern library with many textbooks, reference books, and journals. It provides free internet facilities to the students for day-to-day updating of knowledge on subjects taught. The library currently has a sufficient number of books on various aspects of business economics, computer science, biotechnology, information technology, etc. Which also include reference sources, encyclopaedia directories, handbooks & manuals.

In both Midnapore and Burdwan campuses, the college encourages students to compete in different sports such as Football, Cricket, Badminton, and volleyball, which are arranged twice a year. All students and teachers get involved in an amicable environment.

OSIT Bhurdwan allows its students to access computer and internet facilities. All students can solve many problems, such as old books, research papers, journals, and others, with the help of the internet. It also provides all-time free internet connectivity.

The college campus has a canteen facility for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Several Indian and Chinese foods and other special preparations (against specific orders) are also available for everyone.

The college has a spacious and well-equipped auditorium on campus. The auditorium is used to conduct various events, workshops, conferences, functions, and many other things. All the main events take place in the auditorium.

The college reunions are a wonderful opportunity for alumni to get together, reminisce about shared experiences, exchange the latest news, and reconnect with the Institution. It is also an important social occasion where you can find out about exciting developments and new projects that are taking place at your campus or faculty. The Alumni Relations Office provides a range of services to all reunion organisers that will make your event a great success.

OSIT Bhurdwan students study hard in the practical laboratory under the guidance of their subject teacher. They practise chemical solutions, tissues, cells, and others in the lab. Well-equipped student laboratory for Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Tissue culture, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Physics, and other related Biological subjects.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facility for visiting faculty and student family members. The college has a separate area for the guests who visit the campus. 

The college has a classroom facility for students. The classrooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities such as a board, markers, speakers, and others.

OSIT Bhurdwan has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. The hostel provides basic amenities to its students and has a safe environment for the students.

The college has a placement cell to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
