Prasanna Deb Women's College, Jalpaiguri Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College hostel can provide accommodation to more than 250 inmates.  A part-time medical officer is appointed by the college to provide basic medical help to the hostel boarders.  

The College library has about 31000 old and new textbooks and reference books. A number of peer-reviewed national and international journals are also available at the library. The College Library functions as a ‘Knowledge Centre’ for accessibility and has developed on modern lines as a vital resource for learning for students and teachers. There is a reading room providing a reading facility to students and teachers. Individual reading carrels are available for teachers only. For the students, the Reading Room with a seating capacity of 60 students is operational. They can also access the internet from six dedicated computer machines kept in the Reading Room.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The College Alumni Association was set up with the objective of involving the former students of the college in various developmental programs and initiatives undertaken by the college. The association seeks to strike an effective and meaningful liaison between the former students and their alma mater. With this end in view, the association would consider holding the annual reunion of its members regularly and would invite the expertise and knowledge of the members for the development of the college. All the former students and the outgoing students of P. D. Women’s College are invited to register themselves as members of the Alumni Association by filling up the registration form, which is already available on the college website. Registration forms are also available at the college office. The next plan of action like meeting with the members of the alumni association, participation in college cultural programs, assistance wherever required in college development, etc. will be notified from time to time on the college website.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.
